I obviously have never been in a real life drama onboard a ship at sea - but I have participated in fighting fires and trying to stop water coming into a mock lifesize ship compartment(s) onshore while in the Navy (many times, in fact). The thought of a cruiseship with no electrical power and a large fire with LOTS of smoke in passageways (while maybe taking on water or listing) PLUS all those oldies and fatties with their hoppers/walkers in the way does not bear to be imagined .

A disaster for sure. I am sure the last thing anyone really wants to do is to abandon ship. The panic that may happen in a real emergency is frightening, let us hope that none of us evr has to anything but a muster drill.
