Ozjohnno Posted November 25, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2013 Personally I'd be a little wary of this new line. As Travel Weekly said .... "Earlier this fall, Scenic Tours, an Australian company, announced that it was launching Emerald Waterways, which would serve as the lower-priced alternative to its existing river cruise brand, Scenic Cruises." The video claims Emerald Waterways will be luxury yet it's Scenics budget brand. Up to very recently Scenic's budget brand was Evergreen Tours and they didn't rate very highly with Australians. I'll wait to see what the reviews are like after they launch next year but I'm not going to be one to rush to buy based on their advertising. franski Posted November 25, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) I think it might depend on what they cut out to reduce the cost.... If it is the included gratuities, or all-inclusive beverages - or the butler service - then it might be worth a look if it is the same cost as other cruises. Not everyone is looking for the all-inclusive experience. If it is the number of staff (without decreasing the number of passengers on board) then I wouldn't be as inclined to jump. Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted November 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2013 I think it might depend on what they cut out to reduce the cost...Fran As I recall, Scenic was one of the two or three river cruise lines for customer satisfaction during the flooding earlier this year. So if this is a budget version of that, Oy! Just Oy!
