Laszlo Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Thinking about booking the BA for a last minute cruise, February 9th 2014 sailing. Just did a quick booking to see what cabins are left and their are many. Two weeks? One week out? Want to try and get the best price we can this time. sanger727 Posted December 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Hard to say, it's a gamble. The sailing I"m on leaves on Sat. In Nov, there was a week where prices dropped down very low, and a week or two after that they went back up and haven't been that low every since. Now the insides are sold out and balcony's are the same price they were when I booked 9 months ago. I'd decide what price you feel is a good deal, and check every day. It may go down, it may go up, it may go down for a day and then back up.
Laszlo Posted December 9, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I should have said how close to a sailing date can you book? Just want to make sure we get all of our paper work done
njhorseman Posted December 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) I've seen NCL sell cabins up to about 24 hours prior to departure if there was still availability that late. Edited December 9, 2013 by njhorseman

TravelDiva88 Posted December 9, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I know there was still online booking available 48 hours before my last three cruises. If you've got guts, and you don't care where you end up on the ship, 5-6 days out will probably give you a darn good price
AquamarineBreeze Posted December 9, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 9, 2013 I booked my first cruise with Ncl on a Monday for a cruise leaving the following Saturday. It was a last minute idea and I had no preference for either ship or itinerary. The price was really low... But there was practically no choice in cabins left. It can be done... However, if you're set on a particular ship, itinerary or cabin, I wouldn't play it toooo close. :)
Laszlo Posted December 9, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks all, decided will wait until the Wednesday before (Sunday sailing) if we can't get the cabin we want will just go skiing:D
jdvmd Posted December 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Prices can go up just as quickly as they may go down. You will find that NCL will place all the guarantees several weeks prior to sailing and then they will start offering the upgrades. If you wait too long, you may find you won't have anything. This past Sept I booked a Bermuda cruise @ 11:00 pm Thursday night and boarded the next morning with Zero paperwork . No problems, the luggage tag desk handled it . kylenyc Posted December 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 9, 2013 As others said, it's a risk. My upcoming Dec cruise sold out two weeks before sailing while in September there were some cabins available up to the week of. Prices can go up or down. Good luck.
