Bringing Soda/juice on board?

Is it still ok to bring soda and juice on board (any port)? Not looking to bring a cooler or anything, just some soda and some juice.

I've brought a case (12 pk cardboard box, but clear tape to reenforce) on two cruises out of LA, just taped my luggage tag to it. Never had a problem.

I sailed last week and bought a case of water and a case of coke. Just put luggage tag and no problem! Have a good trip

On our last cruise, my hubby brought some grapefruit juice in port (what he likes to drink if he wakes up in the middle of the night). No problem.

I've stuck a 35-pack of bottled water in a bag and will be flying with it to Fort Lauderdale, as I have a two-bag allowance and don't need both. Princess is transferring me from the airport to the Ruby, so I lack the opportunity to go to Publix.

 

Possibly one bottle might leak. But the only other things I'm putting in that bag is a blue Princess reusable bottle I won at trivia a while back, and an umbrella. And the bag won't be hurt by water.

Actually, I don't understand why people go to the trouble to haul drinks aboard that they can easily buy on the ship. :confused:

On my recent cruise I brought a few cans of soda (orange soda, not available on the ship) aboard when returning to the ship in Bonaire, and had no problem doing so.

Last few cruises, we brought on Mountain Dew and Sobe drinks. I'm not a fan of cans (hate the metallic taste) so I bring 2-liter and individual 16 or 24 oz bottles. I do not care for the taste of Coke/Sprite products, especially the diet versions. I did drink a lot of the lemonade available in the Horizon Court and by the pool.

Basically, if you want anything but Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite or Ginger Ale, you can't get it on the ship.

 

I bought several cans of cherry coke zero, I like it or fresca neither of which is available on the ship. I'm happy with winem water or iced tea with meals but like a soda in my cabin in the afternoon, and even brough a can into the theatre the last night for the show. I had exactly enough soda as I was able to take a cold one out of my cabin fridge for the car ridden home. We also had the steward give us ice and kept drinking from the pitcher of ice water in fridge

Yes but they don't have coke zero that I saw just diet coke. My daughter took pictures of the cans in the room the sprite and coke were from France and the diet coke was in Arabic we are thinking from turkey , the bottles water was from Italy , this is because were were only the thirst short cruise after the TA from the Mediterranean

I hate diet coke and they don't have a diet cola substitue for it such as coke zero even although I prefer cherry or vanilla coke zero. I can also do diet Pepsi max but I don't like diet coke and really don't want full sugar coke. I bring about 8 cans of soda for myself and I brought 8 of the 4oz cans of coke for my husband as he never drinks it with dinner and usually doesn't finish an 8oz can. I had water bottles packed to bring as I don't like all brands of bottled water but as we got there early and carried our own luggage from the car to check in we didn't take it. The Italian bottled water they had on board was fine but if it would have been zephyhills I would have had to drink sparking water.

 

Also I saved quite a bit. Money bringing sodas, $36 which paid for over half the parking cost was we parked in port, we also bought beer, mixed drinks, wine, gifts for my dog sitters in the boutiques, 4 costume bracelets a costume necklace, and played money in the casino. They get my money one way or the other but I hate wasteful spending . As ala carte sodas are all 12oz cans and I usually can't finish that's another waste. I'd rather spend money in something I will take home and look at again then something I'll wee in the leu.

Because I can bring a case of water from home for nothing, and bottled water on the ship (chilled, at the gangway) is expensive.

Agreed. $5 for a case of water at Costco, I leave the extra for my stateroom person (they are always happy to get it the last day when I tell them to take the extra)

 

That $3 bucks buys me probably one bottle on board, if I am lucky.

Agreed, and I hope no one objects to not using the ship's water. For one thing, it is hard to get a refillable bottle clean, especially on shipboard.

It's when people make comments like I don't get why you can bring it when you can buy it on board that makes Americans look pompous and silly. Seriously I may be able to afford a cruise but this wasn't exactly the transatlantic QE2 and I haven't yet reached that stature of priveldge to be able to afford to spend drinking $75 for drinking water over three days, which is about what a case would have cost us on the ship I just felt bad we didn't get to bring our case on board as we got to port to early for curbside check in and had to carry our luggage sans H2o to check in and only managed the xtra Bag with sodas and shoes and couldn't logistically pull the case of water. I am thankful that Princess allows it unlike RCCL who does not. I got to go to the naughty room one cruise because they caugh a six pack of Fiji water in my check in and confiscated it, they confiscated a 6 pack of WATER? Not vodka in water bottles but honest to goodness, Water.

Agreed, and you can buy clothes, toothpaste, deodorant on board, too, but you will probably do better on land.

I am picky about water. I don't for instance like municipal water here in Orlando, all. I also don't like several brands of bottled water particularly zerphyills, plus when you are out doors a bottle is much more convenient than a glass. Yes $75l ot was my husband and two children for 4 days, so that's a conservative estimate. We have a home water filter system but if we drink strictly bottles, say when going camping we drink at least 2-3 cases per week.
