We jumped in an $8 pp shared van to Mullet Bay. Mullet Bay is our favorite beach St Martin beach and has the best ribs. Sorry no food porn. 2 chairs and an umbrella - $15 rum punch $6

Mullet is right next to Maho so you can see the planes landing at SXM.

Make sure you leave a lot of time to get back to the ship. The traffic is awful!!!!!!

We're doing the B itinerary on Adventure in February, so I was particularly excited to see a review for it!

Thank you for posting this review, and with pictures! I love pictures!

I'm glad you posted some pictures of the food as well. I like seeing the local cuisine, especially. That's much more interesting than hamburgers and hot dogs, although it's always useful to know where to get decent burgers and so forth.

Anyway, great review!

Hello St Croix – As usual we were docked when we woke up.

We took the free shuttle down the long pier, then walked to the shuttle area.

We then took the $6 round trip shuttle to Rhythm's @ Rainbow Beach. It’s 5 mins away, but it’s too long to walk.

2 chairs and an umbrella - $15 - BRING YOUR SWIM SHOES!!!!!!!!! There are rocks and coral as you enter the water, then sandy after that. The water was very cloudy

The food was good, but took 1 hour to arrive.

Our least favorite beach of the trip, but still a great day

We did express departure and were off the ship at 7:35 am. Immigration took 10 mins, taxi to airport took 16 mins, USDA check took 3 mins, preferred check in took 5 mins and TSA took 12 mins which means we were sitting at our gate at 8:15 am, a full hour and 20 mins before our flight. I really wish people would stop scaring people on CC telling them to take flights after 1pm at SJU.

Good bye Adventure – Thanks for a great week

We landed right on time at 2:15pm. Getting our luggage took about 30 mins – it’s island time. We then stood on the long taxi line

I pride myself in being able to find something of value in any review., and here is the first thing I noticed. (I have low self esteem, so I have to pride myself! :D

Making note of this. What day of the week was this? I will be arriving on a Friday around 2pm, so I will probably see the same kind of line? If so, it helps me knowing ahead of time to coach myself to being patient.

I love Adventure and the Sountern Caribbean. It is fun to find this thread today. And thanks for the pic of Horizon. That ship was our very first cruise from NYC to Bermuda.:)

I also enjoyed seeing those other ships and the reference to their former names/lines and laughed at the "tug" Valor.

Will be in St. Maarten in 3 weeks on the Independence. We've been there once before and did Bernard's Tour, so I think I just want a beach day. Mullet Bay looks nice, one question, were there taxis waiting when you wanted to get back to the ship? That's the only thing that worries me about going off to a beach all day, not on a tour/excursion.

We arranged with the driver who brought us, a time to come back and get us. The bar will call you a cab when you are ready also.

This is one of my main reasons for reading this review. In your case ou mentioned the USDA check taking 3 minutes. Many of the reviews mention this being a long line or people missing this check and having to go back. I think my departing flight is around 2-3pm.

I also did Bernards on my first trip to SXM. On my second we took taxis everywhere and we found lots of them available or someone at each beach who could call for one. We never waited more than a few minutes.

We got off Legend on the 23rd

LOL, I looked at your post and we were at the ports together. That's funny, we were taking pics of each others ship. Maybe we will hit another December in the future, we have Oasis for 14

Glad you had such a great time on your cruise!!!

A couple of questions - Are the reserved seats for suite guests still the stadium area by the pool bar? Also, was there a special event for suite guests? On the Explorer last month there was an outstanding dinner event for suite guests featuring some of the best lobster I have ever eaten! Wondering if this is fleet wide, or only on the Explorer? We are in OS 1600 on Feb 23rd and really looking forward to it :D
