Helluvaengineer Posted January 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Currently booked on NOS out of Galveston in May. Have balcony cabins mid-ship on deck 7 right before the hump. Aft balcony cabins show up available from time to time. What are the pros vs. cons of aft balcony cabins vs. mid-ship? Are cabins the same size but balcony size different? Galveston Cruiser Posted January 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2014 We have sailed 7 TA's in a corner aft balcony on deck 7. The cabin size is not important to us, but the balcony size. Last TA in November we set a record of 42 friends on our corner aft balcony. We prefer the corner aft on TA's due to the number of sea days, but is not important to us on shorter cruises. Our next cruise sees us in a port side JS (due to a great price):D

I waited overnight to book the JS that went on sale for a very good price and they sold out, but still got a couple of balconies for a great price. I think I might stick with the mid ship cabins and save the aft for another time.

cb at sea Posted January 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2014 The aft balconies are deeper than those on the sides, but a LOOOOOONG walk to and from the cabin! The "hump" are is great for convenience!
dadroy Posted January 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2014 We had afts on our last two cruises and my only complaint was lack of a breeze. It got really hot back there when sitting on the balcony. Of course that will vary depending on weather and wind direction but we had the typical 80 degree weather with 80% humidity and NO wind. Squished when i moved:D
