Halloween Onboard

Looking at Panama Canal Partial leaving October 29th. We have been on a Carnival for Halloween and events were held in smoke filled environments. Where are they typically held with Princess and does it draw a costumed crowd?? Thanks.

Don't know where they are held but the only "smoke-filled environment" on a Princess ship is the casino. There is generally a small smoking area outside but the only interior space where smoking is allowed at all is in the casino and even that generally has some smoke-free nights. (Still stinks like an ashtray though.)

I think the poster is speaking about theatrical smoke.

Carnival hasn't heard about hazards of second hand smoke yet. Their celebrations started in the casino bar area where smoking is allowed and then others were in clubs. The wife is an Oncology nurse so pretty sensitive issue. Anyways no soapbox here but prefer a fresh smelling area. We do Princess casino on the smoke free days. Stale is better than active. Has anyone attended a Princess Halloween Bash? Simple costumes or over the top or variety?? Thanks.

We were on the Sapphire Princess for Halloween in 2013 and they had quite a few activities. The kids' staff hosted a carnival in the atrium with face painting, tattoos, cookie decorating and Halloween bingo in the atrium (for all passengers, not just the kids) and several hundred people dressed up and they had some kind of Halloween party in Club Fusion. (A smoke free venue) I poked my head in and it was packed with people in costume, though I didn't dress up so I didn't stick around. They also had quite a bit of food art on display and a photographic scavenger hunt. It was a sea day and we were cruising Hawaii and the South Pacific.

I was also on the Star Princess cruising the Mediterranean in 2007 and there seemed to be very few activities and very few people dressed up. We were in Santorini that day.

I would suspect the number of activities will vary based on your destination, the cruise staff, and whether you are at sea or in port that day.

Never cruised over Halloween but, if I did, I would certainly dress in my standard costume. I always dress as a superhero - a grandpa. Of course that means I don't need any special costume... :D

Have been on two cruises over Halloween. The Sapphire in 2012 and the Dawn in 2013. Both ships celebrated Halloween in a big way with most of the visible crew in costume and many passengers as well. Atrium/Piazza was decorated and there were big parties in the Vista lounge with a costume contest and prizes.

I don't know how this is happening but this made me realize we'll be on our third consecutive Halloween cruise this year on the Ruby.

Ive been on 2 cruises (princess) on Halloween night,, and were the most fun Ive ever had on a cruise (in regard to a party night)... many people dress up and there is contests and dancing.

The club Fusion was standing room only and the dance floor was packed all night.

I so much enjoyed Halloween, that I look now to book another trick or treat cruise.

We were on the Caribbean Princess for Halloween this year and our experience matched that in the above quote. I've attached some small photos - the party was in the Club Fusion, and the only smoke was some stage effect smoke around the band, as this lounge is a no-smoking area like most of the Princess ship. We stayed away from the stage area and we were not in costume. It was a fun experience

About 20% of the passengers dressed in costume, but most of the wait staff in the main dining room were in costume.

I've been on several ships for Halloween. A little different on each, but the party never started in the Casino so you should be fine. I would not attend if it were in a smoking venue, and this used to be an issue on Princess but really isn't anymore :D

Most will have parties (atrium or club fusion or vista lounge or even upper decks). One ship even had a haunted house.

Sailing on Halloween is great fun, bring a costume and do it!!!
