Check the PORTS OF CALL forum for each port then decide what works best for you http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 Cozumel you can just wander around the town there is a nice museum there Roatan depends on where you dock if at Coxen Hole you can walk to the town or take one the many tours offered If Carnival town you could just hang around the dock area Belize you could check the shops at the port or take a tour not much outside the gates that is close by Edited January 10, 2014 by LHT28
roysue Posted January 10, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2014 Cozumel has a nice Dolphin Encounter. It is an Chankanab Park. You can google the park and get tons of information. For a first time in Cozumel, I would recommend that as a consideration. It also has some small ruins and some nice snorkeling in the park. You will find the port boards very helpful. I recommend taking a ship sponsored tour on your first cruise. Just "walking around the port" can cheat you as you may miss the real wonderful spots to be seen. Enjoy your cruise! screwsmcernst Posted January 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) If you like to snorkel, Belize is a great place to snorkel. they took us out to the barrier reef, and it was beautiful. In Roatan, we docked at the new Carnival port. We did a little shopping in the port shops, then we went outside the gates up the street to a street market. there will be kids/men who offer to show you around for a small fee. If you were with someone, everyone else left you alone. I think we gave them $15-$20. My husband likes to tell people that we paid teenagers for "protection". But it really wasn't scary. the kids were actually funny. We called one of the boys "Captain Chicken Bones." He really liked my BIL's shoes and kept offering to buy them from him. Funny. You will have a great time. Bon Voyage. Edited January 12, 2014 by screwsmcernst
MiamiSpartan Posted January 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Cozumel has the best shopping and dining just a 5-10 minute cab ride into town....
