Oasis 3 Changes

 Share

Recommended Posts

So after all of the original doubters have been proved wrong and The Oasis Class have been a great success, it is time to look forward to the third ship which will no doubt be another 2 inches bigger to claim the title of worlds largest.

Many thought that Royal would never fill such large ship week after week, but they have and in general sell at a premium over other ships.

i personally think these ships are amazing and offer such great facilities for all cruisers, they really are designed to WOW and entertain all age groups. However as many of us have now had the chance to sail on these ships, I thought it would be interesting to consider what changes we would like to see on the third mega ship.

So I will start with things that I hope they might consider for the non-suite staterooms. In the bathrooms I hope that they raise the height of the basin, and also make it deeper as the current ones are really low. I also hope that the shower head will been on an adjustable height rail. In the cabin I hope they will make the wardrobes a little deeper, as the sliding doors constantly hit the clothing. Also the bed should be a couple of inches higher to allow hard shell suitcases to fit under.

What changes would you like to see on Oasis 3 :D

sorry what do you mean? They are building something bigger than Allure and Oasis? Oh and do you know when?

I assume the post is referring to a third Oasis-class ship (as there are 3 Freedom-class, 3 Voyager-class, etc.)--not a new and even bigger class of ships.

We will probably see Virtual Balconies added to interior rooms (like on Navigator and Quantum Class) and Sabor Modern Mexican specialty restaurant. Might even see a few new things from Quantum make the jump to Oasis. You never know! :D

We love the Oasis class so for us, not much to change.

I like the restaurants, so having some entertainment associated with a meal might be interesting as I am thinking about it. We have gone to a number of comedy clubs with a meal/entertainment format.

Would like more 'pints' of beer!

A few more themed restaurants that are not the 'same old thing' as on land. So, for example, a low country/cajun theme. Princess has/had one that was okay.

We like going to Epcot and enjoy the various restaurants there based on country themes.

Off of food: We love the solarium area, so any positive expansion of that area is welcomed.

I just wonder what happens when there is an IT screw up and the virtual balcony suddenly disappears.

Well, Chip, since you started with little little little bathroom details (ALL of which I agree with!), let me add another one that I have noticed.

The metal soap holders have fewer cross pieces on the Oasis/Allure than on the other ship. They must be saving all of 3¢ per cabin on it. Put another metal cross piece in the soap holder so that STUFF DOESN'T FALL OUT OR FALL OVER.

;)

edited to add:

If you can't tell what I am talking about, I found this picture. It is NOT what the soap dish looks like, but it illustrates what I am talking about. See the two parts of the soap dish? One has more "bars", closer together? That's better. Oasis and Allure's have the pieces even farther apart than the picture on the left has.

And of course the bedside units should contain a draw rather than the open shelf thing they use now.:)

Improve the ventilation of the casino as it is reported that smokers are congregating in the casino since smoking is no longer allowed on Ocean facing balcony cabins on other ships since Jan 1st. The casino on Allure was the worst I've experienced for smoke and this was before the new regulations.

Increase the footprint of the Park Cafe in Central Park as it is extremely popular and gets long lines at peak times.

Install more of the Freestyle self serve soda machines. There are not enough for the size of ship presently on Allure.

Redesign the Diamond lounge as it is woefully inadequate for the number of C&A members as I keep reading all Diamond cocktail hours appear to be held in Blaze nightclub to cater for the number of C&A members onboard.

Move the Fitness Center out of the dungeon and up to where there are views like on Voyager/Freedom/Radiance.

I agree, the Cigarette stench on my last trip on oasis made it horrible to workout

and Im putting money down that its going to be called Passion of the Seas. mark my word.

RCI, if you're listening, put in an indoor cigar lounge were smokers won't bother other people. Get rid of smoking in the casino. If you need a cigarette pop into the lounge and join me for a drink. A smoking lounge would solve a multitude of problems. The cigar lounge on the Freedom class and Voyager class should serve as examples. Until then I'll be out on deck smoking my cigar, trying not to bring about the end of western civilization as we know it!

Bummer. The fitness center on Oasis/Allure doesn't have good views?

Debbie

There are some views through a few large circular windows, but nothing like the expansive 180 degree views you see on Voyager or Freedom class. You're also on deck 5 on Oasis/Allure as opposed to deck 11 on Voyager/Freedom, so much lower on the ship.

I disagree. Leave it where it is. I don't feel the fitness Center should take up that prime real estate. I prefer the Solarium there.
