Megans Bay or Sapphire Beach - St Thomas

 Share

Recommended Posts

Been to Megans Bay and it was beautiful and when we go back not sure whether to try Sapphire Beach, do you have a preference and if so could you tell me why please.

Should point out my hubby and I will have a 5 and a 3 year old with us.

Many thanks in advance :-)

Of the two I prefer Sapphire. It's a longer cab ride but less crowded. You also have a great view of St. John. It's also better for snorkeling (we have seen sea turtles there)

Megan's Bay is beautiful, easier to get to and very little wave action which is important for the kids. If there are multiple ships in port though I would shy away from it.

We always go to Emerald Beach. It's over by the airport. maybe a 20 minute cab ride.

There is a Best Western there. For 7 bucks each you can rent a lounge chair for the day. They have a restaurant tiki bar and clean restrooms.

And no ship's tours go there. We've been probably a dozen times.

Plenty of nice sand and very gentle water. Always taxis there for the return to the ship.
