Passport turnaround time

Hi all. Just an FYI. Our daughter just received her first time passport--two and a half weeks. (She submitted application around January 21 or 22. Received February 6)

Yes, those are good times. The State Department is currently advertising 4-6 weeks standard, and 2-3 weeks expedited.

This is probably the best time of the year to apply -- later in the Spring they will be overwhelmed by people planning Summer travel.

Mailed my renewal application using Certified/Return Receipt. Return receipt showed they received my application on January 22, 2014. Got it back today.

23 days...outstanding! :)

We received ours in 3 weeks time. We were told the turn around time was 4-6 weeks when we did them. Glad we didn't pay for the expedited option :-)

I sent a passport renewal out on 27Jan2014 via express mail (two day service), and received my new passport book on 12Feb2014. So from being sent out to the new one received it was 2 weeks and 2 days.

 

This was without the expedited or additional charge for expedited return postage.

 

Still waiting for the passport card though. I decided to get that in case I cruise, since it is much more convenient to keep that in my wallet instead of having to bring the book.

I noticed my check just cleared for my kids so theirs should be coming soon. We mailed them Feb 5

I sent my application and check in last October during the government shut-down and I got my new passport exactly 2 weeks later. If anyone can figure that out, go to the head of the class!

Was a little concerned about the wait time this time around, and that perhaps we applied too late. Just applied for my hubby (renewal) and kiddo (first one) for our September cruise because one never knows how long it will take. I applied for mine in late 2006 (estimated wait time of 6-8 weeks then) and it came a few weeks before my first cruise in September 2007. :eek: It got "buried" on someone's desk is the explanation that I got. Hoping for a quick turnaround like everyone here is reporting! 2-3 weeks would be fantastic!

Just renewed my daughter's passport. Only took 15 days!

Applied for daughter 2 passport on 1/30; arrived around 2/20. 3 weeks.
