jsiegel Posted February 17, 2014 #26 Share Posted February 17, 2014 Thanks very much. its goof to hear we get some perks still.any idea where they are served on Sapphire? And does the Chef's table happen to Sapphire too? It's held in Skywalkers, way at the top at the aft of the ship. Great views from there. Depending on length of cruise and number of sea days, Chef's table is offered usually once a cruise on the Sapphire. It is held in one of the anytime dining rooms, the Santa Fe when I attended last year. Jackie
kubies Posted March 27, 2014 #27 Share Posted March 27, 2014 Is it held on the Grand (15 day Hawaii) and, if so, where?

mimi217 Posted March 28, 2014 #29 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Yes, they still have the pre-dinner complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drink special on Princess ships. (A perk for Platinum, Elite and Suite) Recently sailed a 5 day Ruby Princess cruise and we had it 4 of the 5 evenings. They did not hold it the evening of the Captain's Party. There should be an invitation in your cabin. On the recent 5 day cruise: Day one Mojito $5.00 served w/ Mexican Salsa and chips #2 Breeza Marina $5.00 served w/ herb-marinated goat's cheese with crisp rosemary flatbread and tomato bruschetta #3 Cosmopolitan $5.00 served w/ shrimp fountain and cocktail sauce #4 Japanese Slipper $5.00 served w/ assorted shushi, soy sauce, wasabi & pickled ginger. Along with the stated hors d'oeuvres they served assorted raw veggies, cheeses, crackers, olives and dried fruit. have fun on your next cruise Very curious after reading this post. Have never heard about this. We are platinum and will be sailing on the Coral in 9 days :) any idea if this is done on all ships and if so where? Thanks. paul929207 Posted March 28, 2014 #30 Share Posted March 28, 2014 Yes, the Platinum/Elite/Suite lounge is open each evening. There are free appetizers drinks for purchase. There is a daily drink special. You will get a card in your cabin telling you the location and the special for each day. I think it is from 5 to 7 each evening. beach_fever_4ever Posted March 28, 2014 #32 Share Posted March 28, 2014 The discounted drinks are really no deal anymore. :( Why are they not a deal anymore ? I like the chairman of the board drink and it costs more than $5 at other times and bars.
RetiredNTraveling Posted March 28, 2014 #33 Share Posted March 28, 2014 You can order any one of the six drinks any night, not just the one listed for that day. That was true on the Royal and Sapphire over the past few months. That was the way it was the last time we went to one. Didn't care for the hors d'oeuvres most of the time. But mainly, the list doesn't include Jack Daniels on the Rocks, so we just go down to the Piazza Lounge and order what we want and watch the people! Way more fun anyway!
