Giovanni's Tables in Central Park

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My family of 12 will be cruising on the Oasis on March 15th. With all of us I'm trying to avoid the masses at the windjammer buffet! I just got off the Epic and upon boarding I found the craziness of trying to find a table for just 6 of us insane and kind of ruined the first day fun.

I have heard suggestions that Giovanni's for lunch on ebarkation day is very relaxing and enjoyable. I am considering trying that but would much prefer to sit out front in Central Park versus inside. I know we are a large party and not opposed to splitting up. My question is...in pictures it looks like all of the tables out front are only four-tops...can someone confirm that for me? I was hoping to split into two six-tops but of course do not expect tables to be moved around to accommodate us if that is not the norm.

Thanks for your help!

Karen

We've done Giovanni's Table multiple times, including the first day. It is probably the best bargain among the specialty restaurants. Also a great menu.

Not sure about an outside table for six, but you all could be accomodated inside. I might even recommend inside since on the first afternoon there will be heavy passenger traffic walking around Central Park.

Thanks for the replies. I went to make a reservation online and they will only take a maximum of ten. It says for larger parties to book onboard. I'm afraid to wait so I guess I would have to split us up. Thanks again.

I had the same problem trying to make reservation at Giovanni's september 2012, but got it resolved. I emailed SpecialtyDiningReservations@rccl.com explaining the problem, they replied and asked me to call this number: 305-539-4483 X 34483 and everything was fixed. Maybe you can try to do that. Giovanni's is a great place to have lunch (or dinner) on embarkation day. Good luck!

You're right. You don't want to wait until you board. When we were on Allure, that's where the B2Bs had their lunch and by 1:00 pm it was packed. Use the email address that Celly provided.
