I just spoke with a rep at the hotel about the shuttle to the pier. The shuttle leaves every hour for the pier beginning at 10:00 a.m. The price is $7 pp. I was also advised to call the hotel from the airport for free shuttle to the hotel.

We stayed here last year. Check in was great, Rooms were clean, Air conditioning was noisy, Bed was comfy, Free wifi in room good, Nice TV, Breakfast was good, you can use a complimentary phone at the airport to call shuttle after you get your luggage and the wait wasn't bad. Grocery and wine store in walking distance. It is same price to take taxi for 2 and cheaper if you have more than 2 to share taxi to the port around $14 and you don't have to wait for the shuttle to fill or drop off everybody else.;) I was a bit peeved that the front desk was reluctant to call me a taxi and spent 15 minutes arguing I should use their shuttle but over all it was a great experience and a good value. I would stay there again pre cruise.

I would highly consider a taxi instead of the $7-$8pp hotel shuttles if you have 2 people or more. The taxi price will be about the same or less and you can go when you want. We just have the desk call a taxi for us 15 minutes before we wish to leave.

The shuttle services are chaos in the morning. You may have to go to multiple ships before going to yours.

The front desk will call you a taxi. We had four of us plus luggage in the taxi and the cost with tip was $15. The shuttle goes at 10, 11, and 12. But remember it is not necessarily direct depending on who is going to which ship. Suggest you just go by taxi and let the front desk know how many and if you need a larger vehicle.

I stayed at the hotel pre-cruise on Saturday, March 15 and signed up for the Sunday morning 10 a.m. shuttle to Port Everglades. The cost was $7 per person. We arrived at the pier around 10:45 a.m. and had a short wait for security. The check-in took a long time and we had to wait in the waiting area until 12:30 p.m. to board the ship. I was told that they had switched over to a new computer system and the system was not working properly.

I liked the hotel. It is within walking distance of a strip mall and has several restaurants and retail stores in the area. An Outback Restaurant is on the corner of SE 17th Avenue which is across from the Hyatt Place. I shopped at Publix for snacks and went to Total Wine for my two bottles of wine to take on the ship. I ate at a restaurant located in the strip mall (cannot remember the name, sorry) and the blackened grill chicken sandwich was wonderful. I later walked to Starbucks for my fix.:D I was told that you could walk over the bridge to see the ships that are docked but I was too tired for the walk.

Word of advice, the Hyatt Place offers complimentary breakfast in the lobby but I suggest you get there before 9 a.m. to avoid the long lines. Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you, everyone - it looks like I chose the right one!

You choose the right one. The Dania location is the newest property. Be careful when you call the hotel from the airport for pick-up. Make sure to stress the 10th St. location. We once got their shuttle for the new location and had to wait even longer for the correct bus. When we used the Hyatt Place last year, we parked our car their for 14 days. Everything was great. There are lots of restaurants, Publix and Total Wine for last minute necessities and you can get on the low cost trolley to tour the area right near Publix. Perfect with a family.

Just sent in a reservation request for a pre-cruise stay June 20th for $99. First time I've used this kind of booking but you can't beat the price. Question for mrgoalie, what is your total price including taxes. Does valuetrips charge a fee?

Tks. Then all we would add to the price is state taxes. Cool. Although I've never used Hotwire or Priceline, at least I know which hotel we're staying at the time of booking. I hate surprises.

Staying here also. How hard is it to get a van for 5 on cruise morning? I have heard too many horror stories of those cruise morning shuttles, I will just get two cabs if needed. Not worth the stress at the start of my cruise.

Last night I made a reservation at the Hyatt Place "17th Street/Convention Center" for our pre-cruise stay before boarding Allure. A lot of people on TripAdvisor talked about using this hotel pre- and post-cruise.

This morning, when I googled "Hyatt Place Ft. Lauderdale Port" , I got a different location - "Ft. Lauderdale Airport and Cruise Port" in Dania Beach.

Did I make my reservation at the wrong hotel?

You are booked at the right one that is listed on Value Trips and the one that most of the cruisers book and like.
