Where to stay in Singapore prior to a Princess cruise

Any recommendations on a hotel in Singapore to stay at prior to a Princess cruise? Looking for a moderate priced hotel with complimentary internet and walking distance to shops or restaurants. Stayed in SIN many years ago, so not too familiar with what is new. Will take a taxi from airport to hotel and from hotel to port, so doesn't need to be right next to cruise terminal.

Thanks.

Hi Arizonaperson,

Have just returned from Singapore in January. We stayed at the Village Bugis Hotel. It was right next to the Arab quarter and within walking distance to Little India and Bugis Junction and Bugis St markets. There was also a MRT about 400m from the hotel.

We had a basic room which was clean and had everything we needed. All the other upgraded rooms looked very nice. There are reviews ect on tripadvisor. The free/included wifi worked well. It had a nice pool area.

There are many little restaurants and bars in the Arab quarter, a couple of which we enjoyed. I picked this hotel for the great location and would stay here again.

Another good, reasonably priced hotel (a bit more expensive) in a good location is the Hotel Rendezvous on Bras Basah Rd.

There are so many hotels for so many budgets to stay at in Singapore.

Have a wonderful stay in Singapore and fabulous cruise.:D

We like RENDEZVOUS Hotel on Bras Bahah Rd.

Within easy walking distance to Raffles, Orchard Rd shopping, Bugis Street.

MRT station at Bencoolen or Dhoby Ghaut nearby to Little India, Harbourfront (Original cruise Terminal), Chinatown, and Changi Airport.

Good in house buffet restaurant. Kopitan Asian eatery on opposite corner.

Pick a hotel near an MRT station, then it's very easy to get about.

There's also a hotel shuttle (all hotels) from the airport which costs $9Singapore - we had it to ourselves, very good value. It's an alternative to a taxi and you book it at the desk in the airport when you arrive.

We just returned and stayed at the Swissotel at Clark Quay (Merchant Road).

Easy access to restaurants, and walks along the river, nice walk to Chinatown and a cab stand at the front door for access to inexpensive cab rides around town.

I believe the cost was approximately $150/night.

There is also an MRT station across the road. We have stayed in the Clarke Quay area a couple of times and really enjoy the atmosphere and convenience.
