4 in Royal Suite on Summit

Could someone tell me what the sleeping arrangements would be for 4 people in a Royal Suite? It looks like there are 2 sofas, so do they both have pull-outs? If not, can they add a rollaway?

4 will be fine. Done it on s class twice and m class twice. Bedroom has king bed 2 sale there and sofa In living room pulls out to a queen. Powder room 2 piece bath by exit door also on s class. They can add a rollaway also if arrangements aren't to your liking.

If you are going RS, that's going to be quite expensive for 4 people. Why not just take a second cabin (even an inside!) for two people and use it only for sleeping in? Use the RS for daytime living, balcony access and dining. Your butler won't mind a bit and will welcome the better tip at the end.

Sure, you would miss out on a couple of free speciality dining trips and won't get reserved seating in the theatre, but otherwise you'll be quids in.

I was in the RS on Connie (same as Summit).

I will say the sofa bed was awful, a pit in the middle you have no choice but to roll into, not comfy for 2 - 1 would be OK

Only 1 of the sofas makes a sofa bed, queen sized.

A roll-away would fit but it would be tight given the space configuration.

I'd recommend taking mattress off sofa bed and putting on the floor, much better really.

We were in RS 6139 on our last two cruises on the Summit (June 2012, 2013)

There is a private bedroom with a king size bed.

The larger sofa against the wall in the living room is the pull-out bed.

My son who is 6' 2" slept on that when he was with us last year, but we did ask for an egg-crate topper as soon as we were able to, makes it alittle more comfortable.

He said it wasnt too bad to sleep on, but then again, he could sleep on a rock.

IMHO, there is plenty of room for a roll-away cot to be brought in and opened each evening and then folded up and stored out of the way during the day. It's only for sleeping, wouldnt be in the way at other times.

Thank you for all the information!

I talked with my TA and we are going to do 4 in the RS. Two others traveling with us decided to upgrade to the adjoining CC cabin. My TA also requested the rollaway. I figure if we end up not needing it, they can take it away.

The 3rd/4th person rates in the RS were less than the rate for an inside, otherwise that would have been a good option.

On an unrelated question, I know that room service is not included in the beverage packages, but will the butler be able to bring us drinks?

We had 4 in a Royal Suite on Summit. Two people in the bedroom, 1 person on the sofabed in the living room, and 1 person on a rollaway that they put in the "dining" area. My adult nephew slept on the rollaway in the "dining" area and used to joke all the time that he had to sleep in the kitchen. Needless to say, he was the one who always let the Butler in with breakfast :D

All I can tell you is that when we tried to do that on Solstice last November, they said a roll away was not an option. Only the master bed and the sofa were allowed for sleeping options.

I don't understand. You are booking a Royal Suite which are expensive. Always expensive. Very expensive.

The difference between the 3rd/4th person rate and an inside can't have been more then 5% of the RS price.

Just a bit of privacy has to be worth something doesn't it ? Plus the extra 2 would be more comfortable in their own inside cabin.

If the extra 2 are youngsters there are usually insides very nearby.

What am I missing?

I guess it might depend on the ship (or butler), but on our last cruise we were in a Sky Suite and our traveling companions were in Concierge Class. On the formal evenings, our butler met us at the assigned spot and escorted all four of us to the reserved theatre seating.

We had a roll away on a Celebrity Suite, which is smaller than a Royal Suite. Last summer we asked for a roll away on our Royal Suite but by the time we talked to our butler they didn't have any available. We were told that they don't have many. They ended up bringing two mattresses, that were made into a bed every night and taken away every morning. It worked out really fine for our daughter. :) One of the things we miss as Suite guests in Celebrity is the communication with a concierge before a cruise. They usually take care of these requests. ;)

Please be aware that there is no power room in a royal suite on the Summit.

I don't remember what the rate was when I first looked it up, but right now the 3/4 rate in an RS is the same as an interior.
