travsmom Posted March 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2014 People always say there is always something to do while on a cruise. I don't always find a lot going on. I walk myself to death sometimes looking for something. I don't get into the pools because I am handicapped enough that I could not climb the ladder.(wish it was handicapped accessible).what do you find to do other than the casino? Where does everyone go after the theater is over?I read the fun times but it seems like so much is all at the same time and once it is over, what then. What am I missing out on I want to have as much fun as possible. Maybe it is because I go solo most of the time??
joeyancho Posted March 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) After the theater show is over you can go several places and listen to music. There are activities all day long. Trivia, exercise classes, on deck contests, dancing, serenity area where you can read a book or tan. Shopping, wine tasting. Martini tasting. Ice carving. Hang out on your balcony with binoculars. Mini golf. Library. Bridge games. Bingo. Towel folding. Karaoke. Casino. Or my favorite, catch up on my napping. I could go on and on. tandemcruzr Posted March 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2014 We are away from our daily routines and enjoy reading, relaxing and not having to sit in front of a computer. We enjoy the evening music entertainment while enjoying a pre-dinner cocktail.

candacemac24 Posted March 2, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Make your way down to the art gallery if it's available! It's really relaxing just to walk through and just get away from the hustle and bustle of things. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

hattack Posted March 2, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Making new cruising friends by stretching out of your comfort zone...on your daily schedule look for an activity that if your were at home, you would never do and try it on your cruise....sit with different couples in different areas of the MDR for dinner every night If you are a sports fan wear your favorite team's jersey and go to the sports bar On a full day at sea in the late afternoon go to the atrium bar, purchase a drink and strike up a conversation

There is no question going solo is not for everybody you have to keep yourself occupied and if you introverted it is more difficult. I go solo most of the time also but I talk to everybody. deborahjo Posted March 2, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 2, 2014 We always bring pocket games along. There are 2 of us. Usually before we get done playing there is a group playing. One way to meet people. We also love to people watch. Have our favorite spots on ships and just sit there and watch the people go by. Amazing what people wear, eat and say on a cruise ship. Some things are very shocking and others are just to funny.
larkz Posted March 2, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Most of Carnival's onboard activities sound lame to me, and I'm glad not to have to pitch in (with higher cruise fares) for FlowRiders, rock walls, rope courses, and expensive theatrical productions -- considering better versions of these activities are available an hour or less away from where I live. Fortunately for me, I use ship time to relax and get a break from work and from strenuous activities in the ports. But if I were looking for an abundance of great activities on the ship, I'd probably be evaluating the offerings of other cruise lines.
