azsunfun Posted March 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Could someone help us find a reasonable hotel in Boston that we could reserve in August a few days prior to catching our NCL cruise to Bermuda? We would be flying into Boston a few days early to tour that area prior to boarding our ship. Also wonder if any transfers to pier and or airport would be available through the hotel. 138east Posted March 2, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 2, 2014 Come to the East Coast Board for a better discussion of this question. Please post the exact dates you need a hotel room, your budget, and the number of people. Boston hotels are expensive, but there are often good deals on Hotwire in August depending on the date and the day of the week. Boston is not like the Florida ports - it is very do it yourself. Hotels which offer airport shuttles or Cruiseport shuttles are located in fringe areas with more complicated access to downtown Boston via more remote "T" stations. Krazy Kruizers Posted March 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2014 We have stayed at the Hilton in the Financial District which is close to many attractions.
julie3fan Posted March 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2014 We stayed at the Hotel 140 in the Back Bay area. Older, quaint hotel with lots of charm. The rooms were smallish, but we were out and about all day so it didn't much matter. Walking distance to a trolley stop for the HOHO, as well as the Train station. The rates were good for when we travelled (Sept.) We liked that it was close to touristy areas, but we had to take a taxi from the airport and then to the pier. I imagine shuttles might also be arranged, but the taxi worked out well for us. Enjoy Boston - I know we did! Julie

Underwatr Posted March 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2014 If you're looking for a nice hotel (more like a B&B) close to Beacon Hill, Boston Common and the Charles River, I can recommend the John Jeffries House. It's located at the Charles/MGH station on the T. Very reasonably priced and clean but not fancy. http://www.johnjeffrieshouse.com/
deedeetoo Posted March 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 3, 2014 If you are flying in and cruising out, then you want to stay somewhere downtown. The Back Bay, Financial District or Seaport area would all be good for this and central to sightseeing. You won't find much in the way of bargains. Boston is an expensive city to get a hotel room in though you can sometimes get lucky. For getting to the pier a cab would be the easiest way.
