cruisebear84 Posted March 12, 2014 #52 Share Posted March 12, 2014 The guy in front of me (mid 30's) feel off the plank. He thought he was going to be really cool and jumped straight up. We he came down he slipped off the plank and dropped about 2-3 feet. In my 51 years of living I've never heard a human scream like he did. It was so funny I almost peed my pants, he got himself together and came down. DEAD. I would have DIED! That's so terrible... And hilarious :D crazyyyy Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 12, 2014 #53 Share Posted March 12, 2014 I just can't believe people would intentionally jump or fall of the plank, not for the reason of being daring or to see what it would do, but even dropping a little bit, I would think you would still get hurt because the beam is still there and wouldn't you hit that? Pszaffveauhraunne Posted March 12, 2014 #54 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Ok, the plank, ropes, and zipline look like they're a blast. Question: is there an extra charge, or is this an included activity?

8675309Jenny Posted March 12, 2014 #56 Share Posted March 12, 2014 have we determined the best place to take a picture of your friends/family while they walk the plank on the getaway? =========================== my getaway to do: watch the fireworks go to the magic show play for free in the casino ride the waterslides

The other side is where the line for the ropes course is, plus probably people standing around to take zip line pics (the two are not very far apart). Towards the edge of mini golf is where I noticed people IIRC. You can tell from a previous poster's picture. I wish I could go back now, it was only a few months ago and already feels like a dream :( Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

sebas030 Posted March 13, 2014 #60 Share Posted March 13, 2014 oupss..:o If you have a powerful lens (250mm) the best place is in spice H2o on the starboard side just beside the bar. You can get a larger picture/point of view and better see that the plank extends out of the ship. Be sure to do it the first time it is open on your cruise. I didn't went on the first opportunity ( I wanted to do it at sea ) and the wind was too strong on ALL the other sea days after that...except the last one ( it was still crazy windy on the plank ) as soon as I saw someone on it I ran to the course, jumped in a harness and flew over the course to go to the plank. I am not comfortable with heights and it was great :D sooo glad I did it.:D
sebas030 Posted March 13, 2014 #61 Share Posted March 13, 2014 Call me crazy but for me the scariest part was AFTER the zipline...once on the platform you REALLY have to pull HARD on your harness to get it out of the brake mechanism...and it just wants to pull you back over the edge of the platform...ok nothing bad would really happen...except looking like a fool :o And I found the kids course to be a great idea, good job Ncl :)
pe4all Posted March 13, 2014 #62 Share Posted March 13, 2014 We loved the ropes course, and the plank. I think the hardest part was trying to step on the camera thingy to take the picture while looking up and try to smile without looking like I was scared to death - which I was! LrgPizza Posted March 13, 2014 #64 Share Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) IIRC? IIRC = If I recall correctly Unrelated, but I'm curious... Your "signature"... Are you adding it manually to every post? It is appearing when you are quoted, and regular signatures usually don't. If so, you can go to your user panel and add that by editing your signature so that it comes up automatically instead of adding it each and every time. If I'm off base, then nevermind. kris2cruise Posted March 13, 2014 #69 Share Posted March 13, 2014 For those who have done the ropes, zip line & plank.... My hubby is blind but otherwise totally healthy & gets around better than my clumsy self at times, lol. With the harnesses in use we're wondering if he'll be able to do these? He's been zip lining before & loved it, we've climbed mountains, hiked, etc so he's capable but we do sometimes run into places/people who tell us no due to liability issues. We get it, frustrating but we understand, he's just hoping to be able to participate with the kids & I. So out of curiosity, any signs about restrictions other then height/weight? English101 Posted March 15, 2014 Author #70 Share Posted March 15, 2014 Awesome! Ok, I'm going to book a Breakaway cruise right now! :) It (ropes, zip line, and plank) looks like an amazing time...something you might pay for separately as an excursion at one of the ports! I'm glad it's free! Just hope the rest of my family will enjoy it as much as I think I will!
