But there is no way I could keep that pace up for a full week. I'd be so burned out I wouldn't want to do anything.
CruiseDude_83 Posted March 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I think I just took a vacation but I don't remember much past noon on the first day...:D
dacsmom Posted March 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2014 So what you are saying is about 30 drinks a day? That amounts to less than $2 per drink. What about all the water and soda that is included. I am not a math whiz but this does not seem quite right. Just talking alcohol if each drink is roughly $7 (I love the frou-frou drinks) I would need to drink about 7-8 drinks a day not 30.

NOT in addition the the aforementioned drinks. lol

cb at sea Posted March 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 11, 2014 OMG...that's a LOT of alcohol! I mean, I'm not judging, because I can do a ton of drinking...but jeez...you better buy the package!
JasonV1 Posted March 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 11, 2014 8-12 Strongbow ciders, 2-3 skinny grande cafe mochas, and a bottle of water a day works too. Also helps you gain 8-10 pounds in a week.
Rick-n-Lisa Posted March 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Don't see any beer mentioned in there:-) LOL and the screen name is beerman2. Beerman that is a good estimate on how to decide if package is a good deal or not. Give or take a couple drinks you would definitely get your moneys worth. I can easily see a couple days with a menu similar to that but I don't think I could do that everyday. Be fun to try though!:D And if you are off by a few drinks its still probably worth it just to not have to worry about it. I just wish I could get the beer package and use it to get a bucket of beer to take back to the room for a couple on the balcony.
music Posted March 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 11, 2014 We had the package on the Explorer and had no problem breaking even. A couple frozen lemonade's, at the pool. $8.50 ea $17.00 martini's one before dinner and one with dinner, $8.25 ea $16.50 one or 2 drink of the day to check them out, $6.25 $12.50 after dinner shot, ? they are really good a couple of gin & tonics at the show, $6.25 $12.50 B-52 night cap, $6.50 $6.50 So far that's $65. without the dinner shots and I did not include the morning Baileys. Some days you have more at the pool, some less! It all worked out well. The freedom to try drinks I had not had before was great. I was never intoxicated. And, no, I do not drink that much on a regular basis!
Shekim Posted March 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 11, 2014 But mixing all that alcohol doesn't make you sick? I usually start and stop with the same. Sent from my iPad using Forums

goodycruising Posted March 11, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Was that for 2 people? That would be $110! Just that there seemed to be more than enough for 2 there. :D
beerman2 Posted March 11, 2014 Author #15 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Sheliasailaway You are correct in highlighting the red. The last 2 lines are correct . Total for day would be: 7-10 mixed drinks 2 at b/fast 2-3 Martini's Beerman is because that's what I do for a living. I do drink beer on occasion . Mixing different drinks doesn't make me sick at all. Hope the count clarifies things a bit, didn't mean to lead all of you astray. Maybe in my younger years I could do the combined totals. Think about this for a minute, if your out by the pool say from 11-4 ( remembering it NOON somewhere) and have a couple of drinks/ beers an hour that's 8-10 right there. Thinking that's pretty reasonable and not overindulging. LOL
Rare Teeara Posted March 11, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 11, 2014 I'd spend the rest of the cruise sleeping after just ONE day drinking like that. ;):D No package for me. Just one drink of the day and I'm a happy girl. Although the Baileys IS tempting...
cmecruise1962 Posted March 11, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 11, 2014 And I think I got my money worth! I had (on average): 2-3 bloody marys (and I could ask for Stoli or Absolute Pepar) 2-3 beers at the pool (or drinks of the day or margaritas) 2-3 bottles of water (a girls gotta hydrate!) 1 mudslide (to cool off, LOL) 1-2 martinis before dinner (loved the one with pomegranate) 2-3 glasses of wine with and after dinner The best part was trying different things (if I was paying by the drink, I would never have had a mudslide - not enough alcohol!) and not trying to attend functions I didn't care about because they had free cocktails. The bad part was...hmmmmm...was...hmmmm...NOTHING! :D
papaflamingo Posted March 11, 2014 #18 Share Posted March 11, 2014 Seriously Beerman, drinking Chocolate Martini's BEFORE dinner is like a woman wearing white shoes in the South after Labor Day! Somethings are just a "breach of etiquette." It's VODKA Martini's before dinner an Chocolate Martini's after dinner. :)
boatclub1 Posted March 11, 2014 #19 Share Posted March 11, 2014 When my husband and I cruise - I use my Royal Caribbean Credit Card throught the year to gain the on-board credit - this year I have $300 for on-board credit, we use this towards our drinks. When you are on the islands, you are not drinking on the ship anyways till you get back on. I drink whatever is "free" on the ship and never went without - and buy my mix drinks and beer - this works for us.:)

Thinking that's pretty reasonable and not overindulging. LOL I think it's absolutely reasonable. There are definitely cruises where we drink more than others. A cruise with our elderly parents, we might not, when we travel with our friends (we're couples in our late 40's -mid-50's) we typically have a few bloody Mary's or Mimosa's with breakfast in the dining room. Pool time, a few frozen drinks (regular and virgin) or beers (3-4). We always meet in the Champagne Bar or Viking Crown for a few before dinner, a few glasses of wine or cocktails with our dinner, and a few after dinner drinks while we're hanging out on the ship; the Pub or the piano bar. There's a lot of eating throughout the day, and honestly I've never felt like I'm walking around sloshed. My husband and I are planning a B2B and were wondering if we would try the Premium Package. I think for the first week we will, and we'll save our receipts to compare. Then second week if it seems like it was a good value, we'll probably purchase again. Or...I'll have had enough drinking for the first week, and decide to scale it back the second week. I think it's a nice that they offer this now. Well, I know better having cruised with several :-) looking forward to my drinks package on the Allure in June. Tried it on my Transatlantic in November - maybe two weeks on it is too much! Cheers!
