A busy day for Melbourne today as they got Queen Mary 2 and Celebrity Solstice in today!:

As I looked from the sheltered balcony, it became obvious as to why we are at Webb dock! QM2 is the smoothest and quietest ship (liner) that I've been on. Incredibly except for one or two times when there was some gentle rocking, you would not know you are at sea. They have complimentary shuttles to the city and each bus is escorted off the dock by a vehicle. Probably would give the edge to Solstice as our preference even though we are enjoying QM2 very much. And definitely don't believe all the hype that you hear/read about her - posh, etc!

I drove down the road this morning and saw a bloody big red funnel sticking up.

 

Along the Williamstown waterfront you could see QM so clearly and close. Made the Celebrity look so small over at Station Pier.

Yep. Cap'n was keen to leave first. We actually left early as everyone was back on time. He's just taken control of the next part of the WC.
