Does anyone know if you can use a free United Club one time pass in the Smiles Lounge in the Rio airport? This lounge is not specific to United but accomodates business and first class travelers which we are not and does anyone know their hours of operation?

I don't think you can. I had a couple last year that I tried to use at Frankfurt but was told they are only good in the United States. Maybe you'll have better luck.

We were there in Jan. Tried to get in to the Club, being Silver Elite & having Presidential Plus Card. They wouldn't let us in, as you needed to be Gold Elite. Very disappointing.

That's pretty much what I thought. Thanks. I'm not going to waste time even trying.
