Passport Question

Recommended Posts

If I need a passport expedited, like within the next week, does anyone have any advice?

I'd be standing in line when the acceptance office opens Monday morning. Make sure you have all the correct paperwork you need.'

I can't help you with whether or not any private passport expediters can get one within one week. But there is a US Passport Agency in El Paso you can call right now for an appointment:

If you can't get an immediate appointment certainly go without one. A friend recently did so at the Miami office and while it took nearly the enitre day, they processed the emergency application and she picked it up two days later.

(Interesting note on the El Paso office that while it is not mandatory to show proof of travel in the next two weeks to apply there, it is if you want your passport for pick up rather than mailed)

If you're on a "closed loop" cruise, you don't NEED a passport...your BC and DL will do nicely!

Please don't say this without knowing what cruise line someone is using. It was just established elsewhere in "new cruisers" that some lines require ALL passengers on ALL itineraries to have a valid passport. In particular, Oceania, Regent and Azamara (among others) have this requirement. Even though this appears to be a family, it doesn't necessarily mean they're going on a mass market line like RCCL.
