swirlidz Posted May 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2014 Hi everyone, How far is it from port to the bridge? Looking at doing the bridge climb when we are in Auckland & then going in the Sky Tower ... working out the best way to get from A to B. Thanks :)
Kiwi Kruzer Posted May 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2014 Its not that far, but it would be a good long walk. Short taxi ride would be the answer....however the Bridge Climb is nothing like Sydneys. The view is a distant one of the City . The best view is from the Sky Tower . The Auckland Bridge Climb would not be on the top of my must do's in Auckland......especially if you are only here for only one day on a cruise. Talisker92 Posted May 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2014 I agree- The bridge climb to do is in Sydney! But you can bungee jump off the Auckland bridge!
Fletch1 Posted May 9, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2014 We have the bridge walk in Auckland and enjoyed it. We have also done the sky tower. You can bungee off the bridge and rappel off the tower if you are a thrill seeker. Do the bridge in the morning and the tower in the afternoon as the tower is very close to the cruise port. You will need to get a taxi to and from the bridge. I don't know if there are buses that can take you there, presumably there will be.

Rare roscoe39 Posted May 19, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2014 Hi everyone, How far is it from port to the bridge? Looking at doing the bridge climb when we are in Auckland & then going in the Sky Tower ... working out the best way to get from A to B. Thanks :) just a thought, Im pretty sure the auckland bridge climb offers a free bus from the port....maybe check or email them. I walk around that area every day and I often see the buses full of eager punters on their way or coming back ..(maybe a little ashen faced...). Ive done the climb and its a great view, i wouldn't call it a distant view though admittedly not as close to the CBD of Sydney, but still a fantastic view over the harbour. Please dont be put off thinking its not a good experience. The bungee off the SKytower is a controlled drop rather than a bungee..I like heights but even Im not that game! Enjoy your stay.. regards Roscoe
