Lectures on British Isle Cruise ?

Are there any lectures offered on the British Isle cruise ? Any photography classes offered ? Just 5 days to go !! :D

Yes, there will be lectures and probably a photography class. However, the British Isles cruise is a very port-intensive cruise so there aren't a lot of sea days. Chances are that you'll have to make a choice if there is more than one thing you'd like to do happening at the same time.

I don't remember any of those classes or lectures being offered but we did have an arts & crafts person onboard who held some classes. The itinerary is so port-intensive that it's hard to hold the lectures & classes at night when the public rooms are being used for other entertainment and people are exhausted.

Princess is just this year changing its policy regarding lecturers. We were told that, unless a itinerary had a significant number of sea days, lecturers would no longer be provided. So that particular itinerary (British Isles), regardless of the history- and culture-rich ports, might not qualify for hiring outside lecturers.

 

Princess is going more the way of having the bridge officers present a navigational lecture and the technical department put on a lecture about their responsibilities, and is even providing corporate PowerPoint presentations to the ships.

 

Most other "lectures" are sales pitches for the spa, photography department, etc.

I have done 3 cruises around the British Isles with Princess and because of the number of ports we didnt have that many sea days and there were no lectures onboard.
