The soot issue is with the Royal Princess, the Emerald has no such issue (we've had aft facing cabins twice on the Emerald and once on the Royal). It will be interesting to see if the problem has been 'fixed' with the Regal Princess which is on its maiden voyage now.

Emerald Princess has no soot problem. Royal Princess has a big soot problem.

Yes! It effects the aft FACING balconies (not all balconies at the aft of the ship).
