TougherThanTheRest Posted June 5, 2014 #32 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Seeing as how we are booked on the Breakaway a week from Sunday, I am very happy to read this thread! :c) Done the Bahamas on Norwegian twice and was underwhelmed with the ports. Private island was my favorite stop.
jenny105 Posted June 5, 2014 #33 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Bermuda, no contest. It's a nicer island and the people are very polite & aren't as pushy as Bahamians. Plus you're docked for 3 days so you get to spend more time exploring.

mugtech Posted June 5, 2014 #35 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Great first round victory for Bermuda over the Bahamas, which narrowly avoided being shutout. Who does Bermuda take on in round two?

meatball_nyc Posted June 5, 2014 #37 Share Posted June 5, 2014 I was going to say Hawaii too. That's so funny. Haven't been there since my honeymoon which was about 100 years ago. Liked Maui better than Honolulu. ~Robin Norwegian Breakaway July 2014 Carnival Miracle 2010 Carnival Legend 2006

CruisingCamper Posted June 5, 2014 #40 Share Posted June 5, 2014 This excites me that so many think Bermuda is great:) We are sailing on the Breakaway to Bermuda in August! I am ready to go now after reading all the positive posts about the island! I need to start doing some research as to what we need to do there. smokie36 Posted June 5, 2014 #41 Share Posted June 5, 2014 Done both routes. Bermuda hands down. Do miss when we sailed the Crown into Hamilton and St.George's. Going through the cut and the town crier welcoming us was a welcome sight.

bladeguy Posted June 6, 2014 #43 Share Posted June 6, 2014 We have been to the Bahamas twice. We have been to Bermuda 11 times. By the end of this summer, we will have been to Bermuda 13 times. Bermuda is in a completely different and much better league that the Bahamas, especially on a cruise. Heaven on Earth!

NewEnglandNANA Posted June 6, 2014 #49 Share Posted June 6, 2014 I loved Bermuda! In fact leaving Sunday for my 3rd cruise there. I was not a fan of the Bahama route. I thought it was a little dirty, especially Coco Beach in FL. our very first cruise was the Jewel to Bahamas. Our first stop Cocoa Beach and what to our wondering eyes should appear as we first view this beach a used tampon. Can you SAY EWWW! Was so not impressed!
