Leaving tommorw on Solstice for ALASKA

is there any thing i should know or take first cruise. any help would be great.

Be sure to take along a jacket for sure as it will get windy and cold on deck. Pack some other warmer wear if your planning excursions. A good pair of binoculars might also fit the bill.

The key cards for your room and charging things on board are very sensitive to magnets. If you are bringing anything to hold that card or have a clutch/purse that you will use, bring one without magnets.

Plan to dress in layers. The temperature varies a lot during the day, as well as from day to day. You should have rain wear although you may be lucky and not need it.

Gloves for outside viewing of the glacier.

Magnets for displaying bulletins and notices on the wall of your cabin.

You lucky people. We recently did this cruise and loved it. If you eat in Silk Harvest, try the Tempura Shrimp, it's to die for. Say hello to Linda from Edinburgh who is the host in there. She's the best. The staff and crew were outstanding with the best service ever. The CD Alejandro is hilarious, and they have a guest lecturer who is an expert on the wildlife. Try to make at least one of his presentations. Enjoy.

We just returned from this cruise on May 30. We had a wonderful time! Binoculars and camera are a must. As others said, bring layered clothing because you never know about the weather. We did bring gloves, which we used a couple days. Have a great time!

We just returned from this itinerary/ship on May 29. If was a perfect trip...you are so lucky to be experiencing it! All the advice above is great advice but I would add to also be prepared for warmer temps with a pair of shorts and some short sleeved shirts. Our last sea day was a warm one and we sat on deck 15 soaking in some rays and enjoying few drinks.
