Ship - Prima

Deck - 15

Stateroom # - 15314

Stateroom Category – H6

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Generally yes.   Some chair movement and kids running could

be detected from the Haven concierge area lounge above.   It is across from the crew service door leading to the service room and crew elevator.  Not really noticeable until the last night when it was repeatedly opened and closed during luggage pickup.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –  Great view, spacious.  Louge chairs fold back but must request lounger if needed.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal large size as described.

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Counter space in Master Bath is limited but there are drawers and shelves.  No towel bar.

Any other comments? -  The 2nd bedroom only has a queen bed.   With the captain bed design put in under the bed with some drawers, we found only one medium luggage bag would fit.   The master king bed did handle two large luggage pieces and closet could possibly handle one more if one gives up shoe shelf space.  Obviously smaller bags could nest inside the larger pieces.   The living room sofa bed was only a double pull out matttress with metal springs box.   No clothing storage area in living room.

Ship - NCL Prima

Deck - 13

Stateroom # - 13531

Stateroom Category – T1

Starboard or Port Side - Port side? Kind of in the middle

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Mostly yes, couldn't hear other rooms but there was a lot of creaking from various ship parts on some nights

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No. This category does not do connecting rooms.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – n/a

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

Was wind a problem? - no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Not sure if it was just this cabin, but the thermostat that controls the temp, do not disturb and make up my room lights always kept doing a system reset. I also had the temp all the way up and the air blowing out was still kind of cool. I told guest services and they allegedly had some one come check it out, but it still ended up doing the same thing in the days after.

Any other comments? - Location was good and bathroom felt like a smart functional design with the shower door doubling as a bathroom door. Ample storage, one larger closet, but the racks are designed to hang horizontally, not vertically. Larger suitcase fit better under the bed.

Ship – NCL Bliss

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 10706

Stateroom Category –Haven (HG) Forward Facing Penthouse

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Cruise - Seattle to Alaska 9/17-24/2022

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) –Quiet for the most part except occasional anchor dropping noise

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View – adequate view looking out and back but had to look around the windbreak to see forward

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? – very small but wind-break helped while ship was moving. There were 2 chairs and a small table and was sufficient for 2 to sit comfortably

Was wind a problem? – there was a forward wind-break but it was too cold and windy to sit for too long while the ship was moving

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? – N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? – the overhead shower pressure was great but the drain couldn’t keep up, causing water to back up.  The side shower heads caused water to shoot straioght out of the shower enclosure, even with the door closed.

Any other comments? – Our butler was wonderful (Jane Sartin).  We sent a letter to the Norwegian Concierge Desk a couple of weeks before departure and then followed up with a hardcopy for Jane when we met her the first day of the cruise.  She provided all our favorite snacks and even brought a large fan for the bedroom.

Ship -ENCORE

Deck - 14

Stateroom # - 14758

Stateroom Category – Family Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – for the most part yes. the flush of the bathroom did get us going in the morning from both neighbors and above us at the observation deck.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

Balcony View - This room gives you a bit extra space on the balcony. It has an added angle thus allowing you great views toward the bow of the ship. Which was great on one morning where dolphins were spotted. On the flip side you might get more views of your neighbors then you wanted! Overall we loved having the extra room. We didn't feel cramped and allowed us to lounge out there more.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized (by a bit)

Was wind a problem? - Never

Any specific problems with this cabin? - besides hearing the flush of toilets above us and maybe seeing more of your neighbors than intended.... we would gladly book this room again.

Any other comments? - Ive attached pics. not the greatest views but hopefully it will show the size of the balcony and angle of extra room.

Happy Sailing!

Ship - Encore

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9788

Stateroom Category –Club Balcony Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – YES!  only heard music from Cavern Club downstairs once, it was when we were walking down the hallway leaving the room around 6 pm.
Otherwise, couldn't hear a thing, except people moving furniture on balconies above when we had our door open.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – First balcony in line when they 'jut' out from the angle, so we had a little more view forward than a normal balcony would have.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Average?  Have nothing to compare it to, our first cruise ever!

Was wind a problem? - Not on the balcony itself.  But we did get the vacuum issue if the balcony slider was open and someone entered/left the room.  But that's just physics.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None.

Any other comments? - LOVED the location.  Was literally two doors down from the mid elevators, but heard zero foot traffic from other passengers.  Had a double sink in the bathroom and large tub-sized shower.  The double sink was somewhat overkill as we are never in the bathroom at the same time, but was a nice upgrade for the upgraded mini-suite.  I unfortunately didn't get pics of the room, I was more interested in getting pics of the Caribbean ports.

Ship Norwegian Star

Deck 11

Stateroom Category –Club Balcony Suite

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Cabin 11652

The cabin itself was great except that about halfway thru the cruise the cabin started to feel pretty warm and got worse as the cruise went along.  The issue seemed to be the lack of airflow vs warm air coming out.  If you have an issue report it and be persistent if they say it is normal ask to check another room to see if there really is just very little airflow.  We kept the bathroom light/fan on in hopes of sucking in more cool air could not really tell if it made a difference.  We did notice that it did get pretty warm while sleeping so there could be a setting to reduce cooling/airflow at night.

The room itself has a nice balcony but the large overhang does reduce the actual view of the sky.

We did hear some noise from above but never enough to wake us up or cause an issue.

The bathroom looked liked it had been redone last week.  All of the caulking was very white and the floors were very clean.  You could see a little wear on the screws holding the sliding doors to the track but that was minor.  the tub was nice and water flow to fill the tub was good.  Shower head was anemic and I would recommend bringing your own shower head from home if you have a longer cruise.  Since the parts are all plastic they are only hand tight.

Internet was fine in our cabin did not work on the balcony at all, but speeds were for the most part very poor.  Most people that had the by the minute plan had to go to the internet cafe every day to get minutes back.  If you were logged on and the internet went down you could not log out but the timer kept on going.

The bed was pretty firm but an eggcrate topper provided by the room steward solved the issue.

Please ask for robes and a coffeemaker they have them but do not put them in all rooms it seems!

The little window above the cabin number has a dial at the bottom where you can change it from welcome, to do not disturb, or make up room etc...

Ship - Dawn

Deck - 12

Stateroom # - 12512

Stateroom Category – Family Suite (SP) without a balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – The stateroom was quiet when the ship was in fairly calm seas. When there was any side-to-side motion, there was a lot of creaking and rattling in the cabin. I'm not sure if this was because these cabins were later additions to the ship and weren't fitted as well. If you are sensitive to noises while you sleep you may want to bring earplugs.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – There was no balcony in this stateroom. There are four huge floor-to-ceiling windows that offer a great view of the surroundings. We had heard issues of condensation between the glass on these windows, but it looks like they may have been resealed and we did not see any condensation.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A.

Was wind a problem? - No noise from the wind. It did amplify the side-to-side motion since Deck 12 is at the top of the ship.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None.

Any other comments? -

We enjoyed the amount of space in this cabin for a longer voyage, and that it had a stand-alone shower. We would not hesitate to book this category again despite not having a balcony.

If you have any mobility issues:

1. This stateroom was forward of the fwd elevators. There are two inclines in the hallway before you get to this stateroom.

2. There is a significant step up into the bathroom. The bathroom is raised up above the level of the stateroom. It is 6.25 inches (the same height as my cellphone).

Ship - NCL Prima

Deck - 11

Stateroom # - 11706

Stateroom Category – M2 - Forward-facing Club Suite Balcony with Large Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes, very quiet

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great views of both forward and side.  Forward views look down on the bow.  Side views mostly look straight down.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Huge

Was wind a problem? - On windy days while at sea, the balcony is very windy and not very usable but we had plenty of calmer days at sea where wind wasn't an issue.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There is a little whistling wind noise when it is windy out, even with the balcony doors locked.  Bathroom door can't be easily propped open and slams shut if not careful but I think that is a ship wide problem.

Any other comments? - Tons of power options (USB-A, USB-C, USA, European - by the desk and by the bed), lots of open floor space.  YouTube video of the cabin:

Ship - Escape

Deck - 18

Stateroom # - 18106

Stateroom Category – Haven 2 Bedroom Family Villa

Starboard or Port Side - Not sure

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Yes.  Because the room is so far forward, there is muted noise in the master bedroom when the ship is coming into port, and a noticeable jiggle while docking.  In addition, the room is below the Haven Sun Deck, so around 6:30 each morning you will hear chairs being moved around.  (Probably the same in the evening when the chairs are being stacked away.)  Otherwise, just the usual banging/clanking of the hangers in the closet when the seas are rough.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –No obstructions - nice views from the balcony.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal sized balcony with 2 chairs and a small table.

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - The 2nd bedroom is far less luxurious than the rest of the cabin, and is lacking in storage space/drawers.  There is a large step up into the bathroom, so be mindful.  The bed as a single is not very comfortable.

Any other comments? - Aside from the 2nd bedroom, the rest of the cabin has ample storage space and multiple nooks and crannies.  I miss the shower tremendously.  At certain times (docking or leaving port), there is a slight diesel smell in the toilet area, which is not noticeable anywhere else in the cabin.  The room seemed hot to us, but we were able to adjust the thermostat to be comfortable.  The Haven Deck 18 can be accessed without going down to deck 17 and going through the lobby - at the end of the hall, there is a doorway with key card access that opens out to the Deck 18 stairwell.

 Ship - Epic

Deck - 10

Stateroom # - 10156

Stateroom Category – BA

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Pretty quiet, HVAC seemed a bit louder than other ships we've been on but white noise so...no real issue.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Unobstructed, no issues.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Felt deeper than on our previous cruises, not as wide though?

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - Mid location, just a little closer to the forward elevators than the aft.

Seating area beside balcony, bed closer to bathroom.

Tons of storage space.

Minimal foot traffic in passageway, staterooms above, below, and across.

The curved walls look good but end up wasting a lot of space - squared off walls would have made for a roomier cabin in the same footprint.

The bathroom layout is...interesting. It actually works ok in that one can be in the shower while the other is in the wc. What doesn't work is the sink at the corner of the bed, makes a real choke point - this would likely be better with the bed next to the balcony.

I cannot see this working at all with 3 or 4 in this cabin, even with the separating curtain closed privacy is going to be a concern.

I can see why there is only one in this class.

Would we book this again? Yeah, for the 2 of us it was just fine if a bit snug.

Side note: As my wife pointed out, this was the same cabin number as our first cruise on the Encore 😎 Much closer to midship than 10156 on the Encore though.

Ship - Escape

Deck - 8

Stateroom # - 8762

Stateroom Category – Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Extremely quiet.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes

Balcony View - There was a crane directly below us but didn't obstruct the view much.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - USB port on the right side of the bed was broken.

Any other comments? - We found this room to be very quiet, had lots of space and a very good location being close to bars and restaurants. It is very close to District Brewhouse so I was concerned about noise, but the only noise we heard was one of our neighbours constantly letting their door slam loudly.

Breakaway

deck 13

#13756

BA balcony

Starboard

normal size, bed is against closet, sleeps three, loveseat converts to bed

right handed layout, meaning as you enter the bathroom is on the right and the headboard is on the right as well

no problem with wind

unobstructed view, no balconies that look down on you

quiet, convenient location, only complaint is the room layout. The bed is next to the closet so it is snug getting items from the closet,  it I think that is true of all the balconies on theBA.   We have booked this cabin for our next cruise.

No, the bed can be either near the closet or near the balcony.

For the standard balconies, large balconies, and Club balconies on the sides of the ship, if it sleeps 4, the bed is near the balcony.

For the same group, if it sleeps 3, the bed can be in either location but  most will have the bed near the closet.
