Equinox Classic drinks package

We are cruising on Equinox in August for 14 nights and have the Classic drinks package.

worth $49 a day each that's $686 each

It appears from reading threads on here and viewing bar menu's that others have scanned that a lot of the drinks that were included are now not included in the classic package

We are not big drinkers and never normally drink spirits but were hoping to try a few cocktails, all these seem now to be NOT included in the classic package,

is this the case on Equinox?

I mainly drink beer and it also seems that the draft beer (usually the cheapest form of beer) is also priced $0.5 over the classic package price,

is this the case?

so we have a package worth $686 and cannot get a small draft beer

I also saw a menu stating that there seems to be a reduced bar price for draft ales from 4pm to 6pm and from 10pm to 2am, is this the case on Equinox?

We don't want to upgrade to the premium package as we will struggle to get any where near the value out of the classic package since we don't drink enough wine or spirits .

If we wish to order water to take off ship on trips do we need to order from different bars so that we don't get charged for the second bottle?

it would also be nice to take a coke or two back to the room, again to we need to visit each bar on the ship to order more than one

confused,

Could anyone who has recently sailed on equinox let me know the current policy for the classic package.

I not a beer drinker so many someone else can help with that part of your question. We have had the Classic drink package on 2 cruises and found we could enjoy plenty of cocktails.

Celebrity recently posted the alcohols included in the classic drink package; 5 brands of gin, 7 brands of tequila, 10 brands of scotch, 8 vodka, 11 bourbon/brandy, many choices of rum and over 20 cordials/aperitifs. With this variety you can try a wide variety of cocktails including things like margarita's, piña colada's, bloody Mary's, martini's ( just not the large ones served at the martini bar), daiquiri's, belini's , etc, etc.

As to ordering multiple drinks at the same time, no you can't, but one of you can take both drink cards to a bar and get a drink for each of you. If you think you will want to take more than 1 bottle of water each off the ship you can pick up a bottle on your way from breakfast to your cabin and then get another as you are getting off the ship.

Enjoy your cruise.

The coverage is the same on all the ships in the fleet, and do not differ from ship to ship. Bud, Coors, Miller are covered, but you are correct, if you want one of the craft brews at the GastroBar you will need to upgrade or pay full cost.

Here is my "RUFF" run down of a day with a drink pkg on another thread

For us at least, the package was not just about drinks that would make us not remember the cruise! It was everything else that the pkg includes.

A speciality coffee each on the balcony while the wifester is putting on her face, $5 ea.

Evian or San Pellegrino with fresh squeezed juice with that second coffee at breakfast, $15 ea.

Grab a bottle water on the way to stake out a deck chair, $4 ea.

$24 each before any mind altering liquid is consumed.

A beer or the drink of the day by the pool, $6 ea

Then off to lunch, maybe a soda, or another San Pellegrino $5 ea

The sun is hot hot hot! A cold beer or drink of the day is in order, $6 ea

The burger at the Mast Grill is calling our names, it does not go down with out some liquid assistance, $5 ea, then it is time to meet friends to watch the sun set from the Sunset Bar, $6 ea. Afternoon total $28.

And the evening fun has yet to begin.

San Pellegrino and a couple of glasses of wine with dinner, and another speciality coffee with desert, $26 ea

Now it is time for some mind altering sampling to happen, or not A cocktail with friends at one of the watering holes on ship $7 ea, or 2 if we are letting our hair down!

One more bottle water on the way back to the cabin just in case we get thirsty during the night, $4. Evening total, $44.

Morning, $24, day, $28, evening $44, total $96.00 each useing the low end of the cost scale, ie; the Classic pkg.

Some evening's we will grab another coffee ( or worse) and go and sit on deck 5 to unwind, listen to the swoosh of the waves gently breaking down the side of the ship before heading to the cabin.

As to your question about reduced price drinks, that varies amorously ship to ship and itinerary to itinerary, depending in the bar sales and if they need to give revenue a boost, so watch your daily and talk to tge bar staff to keep informed about possible happy hours.

The entire topic is confusing and it does vary by ship because drink packages seem to be unclear to the staff or just isn't explained to them.

First...while there was a significant drop in liquors and drinks included in the classic package one day out of the blue, that has since been effectively reversed so the new package is almost the same as the older package that was documented on the UK board in in UK ads. The allowance on wine has risen to $9 but no one seems to really know what wines are included although there have been some examples shown. The fact is that different ships carry different lower priced wines.

As far as being able to take advantage of price reductions of drinks on board (special deals), the inclusion of drinks seems to be based on the normal price irrespective of the fact that they are selling the drink for less than the $8 limit. This hasn't actually been confirmed by celebrity cruise (the official spokesman here), but folks have been told this on cruises (reported here). No clue what will happen on your (or our) cruises.

Corona and Corona Light are also still included in the Classic package.

As for cocktails, there were *TONS* available within the Classic package if you just ask. Most of these are not specifically written on the drinks menu, which included mostly the more expensive and complicated cocktails. However, we enjoyed many Dark & Stormies, Gin & Tonics, Bahama Mamas, Malibu & Pineapples, Baileys on the rocks... etc etc... you can see we had a good time! :D
