CMurph Posted July 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2014 When you book a guarantee do you always find out your assigned cabin before sailing? Will they do this when they issue your documents? I may be answering my own question, but wouldn't you have to know the cabin # before sailing in order to have the # on your tags? Thanks.
BAV2005 Posted July 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2014 From what I've read, sometimes you don't find out until you get there. In that case the porters have a master list and write you out a tag when you drop your bags. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cb at sea Posted July 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2014 The porters have tags....if you don't know your cabin number, the porters will, and will write it on the tags. No biggie!
izodlacoste Posted July 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2014 I booked last week for a cruise in a month and they assigned a cabin within three days. I often travel on guarantees and always had an assignment before arriving at the pier

When your docs are issued your Cabin# and deck will be blank if you do not have your room.

Rare Keith1010 Posted July 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 3, 2014 If you do not hear until the last minute you can get tags from the porters. Keith
cruizers Posted July 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 3, 2014 When I had a guarantee, I received my cabin notification as soon as I had paid in full. However, I understand it also may happen when you actually get to the port.
CMurph Posted July 3, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted July 3, 2014 Thanks everyone. I realize now I may or may not know my cabin number ahead of time. It has been less that two weeks since I booked. I used Visa Points & it was paid in full, however...there was a period of time that payment dropped off the record & it showed I owed full fare. A talk with RCCL got it straightened out quickly, but I learned any changes I make to my booking online can result in the payment dropping off again. Nothing I should really need to change between now & sail date, but if I do, I will be calling RCCL instead of doing it online.
