Island Princess questions

Is the Pastiserrie on the Island like the International Cafe on other ships - serving salads, desserts, Paninis, and gelato? Or is it strictly pastries?

Also, is Churchills Lounge a cigar bar? Thank you.

No, it's not. It's just a bar, and I believe there is a tray of pastries out in the morning. Nothing like the IC on the Island yet; maybe after her long drydock next spring.

Yes, Churchill's is a smoking lounge: cigars and cigarettes.

The only food we ever saw at the Patisserie on the Island on our recent cruise was some cookies in the afternoon when they were serving cookies and milk. There may have been some pastries in the a.m., we never checked. As rdsgrl said it is basically just a bar with the addition of specialty coffee service.

Yes, Churchill's is the cigar bar. Many also smoke cigarettes there as well.

It's one of the few cigar bars that has a very nice outside view. :)

I may be mistaken but I do remember on our Panama Canal cruise that finger sandwiches were put out one day on or after lunch. Mainly it's desserts or cookies.

Last summer we went to Alaska on the Island and in the morning they had muffins, croissants, Danish pastry etc., at lunch they here was in addition to the sweet tray a tray of of small style buns and sandwich all with assorted fillings, and in the afternoon a tray of sweets similiar to the afternoon tea selections. There was always something there to snack on. This is such a lovely ship, the size and the placement of areas, enjoy your cruise.

The Coral Princess had finger sandwiches in the afternoon when we were on her before the International Cafe was installed.

Yes, they did have cigars for purchase within Churchill's. One of the servers from Crooner's can help you out! And it is a GREAT view unlike the Churchill's on the other ships where it is windowless between the Theatre and Casino.

So true above! Churchill's on Island is in a wonderful location! :D

Just adding .... if you are in need of a cigar cutter, Crooner's will have one for you to use. ;)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to cigar smokers but, if the deck plans are correct, Churchill's will be moved to a smaller space with no windows after her drydock that ends on May 22, 2015.

That's disappointing. On our Alaska cruise, it was quite the hub of activity.
