CruisingGirlinWI Posted July 13, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Take a nice walk around the ship and of course watch the sun rise. Also get a coffee!
092306 Posted July 13, 2014 #27 Share Posted July 13, 2014 DH is an early riser and pretty much every morning is up at 5:30 even on vacation. He gets some coffee, walks around the top decks and always comes back with beautiful sunrise pictures.
Velvetwater Posted July 13, 2014 #28 Share Posted July 13, 2014 There have been many occasions where I am still partying/drinking at 5.30 in the morning so I may not have even gone to sleep. Hubby sets an alarm around 6ish to check his sugars because he is T1 so I would probably wait for him then wander to get caffeine and watch the sun. Its a shame the hot tubs and pools are not open at that time as it would be great.
deborahjo Posted July 13, 2014 #29 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I go grab some hot tea, grab a lounger and set on deck. It is so peaceful and watching the sun come up is great.

pungo3 Posted July 13, 2014 #31 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I love getting up early and enjoying the quiet ship. It's nice to meet others on the Lido, getting coffee, and waiting for the sun to rise. I wish I could sleep later, but usually can't, so why not enjoy the solitude and magnificent scenery.
PAPERBKWRITER Posted July 13, 2014 #32 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'd probably wish you a good morning and stagger to my cabin to get some sleep after a long night.
trvlgirlmq Posted July 13, 2014 #33 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'm an early riser even on vacation so it would be up to Lido for coffee where I would sit impatiently wondering why no one else in my family got this gene.
RuthlessBoss Posted July 13, 2014 #34 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I would get up go to our balcony enjoy the sun rise and have a smoke. Me too. Everyone else is on Lido drinking coffee and getting sunrise pictures or running to the gym to get healthy:D
picomullet Posted July 13, 2014 #35 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Great thread! Really enjoyed reading! Yes I am an early riser too. Nothing like a cup of coffee and peace and quiet. Then wake DH up when it is time for brunch!
pungo3 Posted July 13, 2014 #36 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'd probably wish you a good morning and stagger to my cabin to get some sleep after a long night. Aha, perhaps I've cruised with you. There are always a handful of people who are just heading for their cabins. You definitely know how to squeeze a month of fun into your week's vacation. LOL Ah, to be young again.:D
rabbit72 Posted July 13, 2014 #37 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Me personally would hit the running/walking track. Nothing better then exercising to the sun coming up.
EpcotBill Posted July 13, 2014 #38 Share Posted July 13, 2014 The first day I walk the entire ship taking as many pictures with no people in them as I can. The rest of the week I'll be on the track, in the gym or sitting in a quiet place watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee. Sometimes that's my balcony, sometimes not. thistoo Posted July 13, 2014 #39 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I confess I'm a little jealous of all you early risers. I've always wanted to be up in time to enjoy sunrise and a quiet ship, but for me it would require an alarm. That said, I'd love to pretend I'd find a quiet place on deck somewhere for early morning yoga, but I'd probably succumb to the lure of coffee and a lounge chair. LambKnuckles Posted July 13, 2014 #40 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Yep, I am normally awake before sunrise at home or at sea. If it's more than an hour till sunrise, I head off to Lido for coffee, then walk around Promenade and take photos of the places, casino, shops, etc before they open. I may go to internet cafe and post on Funville. Then head up for sunrise and photos and peace. It's a spiritual time and reflection time to stand in awe of the sunrise through clouds, rain, clear skies, or however it is that morning!!! Love the morning!! firemanbobswife Posted July 13, 2014 #42 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I would roll over and go back to bed. I am by no means a morning person in any way, shape, or form. If I was forced to get my grumpy butt out of my room, then I would require a nap probably somewhere around 10AM. Need my beauty sleep, ya know :D
cmjb4ever Posted July 13, 2014 #43 Share Posted July 13, 2014 That's just about the time that I grab my towel land flip flops to claim my chair for the day. Then I go snooze in my cabin some more. Just kidding...... Sent from my iPad using Forums
jayscore Posted July 13, 2014 #44 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I've had the opportunity to walk the streets of downtown Chicago and Times Square just around sunrise. This is how I compare walking the ship before the sun is up. I find it a wonderful "out of place" feeling, knowing that within a couple of hours the human congestion will return it back to "normal".;)
IPlayWithString Posted July 13, 2014 #45 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Getting coffee, journalling, probably doing some meditation....
Rare nydney1 Posted July 13, 2014 #46 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I get all my books and towels and spread them in the best chairs around the ship as some time during the day I will spend five minutes there. Just kidding.
elliair Posted July 13, 2014 #47 Share Posted July 13, 2014 Good Lord knows why I am awake this morning at 5:30, but He may be the only one. If you were on a ship at this time, what would you be doing? I'd be getting some coffee on te lido deck and waiting for the sun to rise. I would get room service for coffee, then sit on my smoke free balcony and watch the sun rise.:p
beachbum53 Posted July 13, 2014 #48 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'm not an early riser by nature. If I wake up that early on a cruise, it's because my bladder woke me up, and I've gotta ...... well, you know. If it's an "at sea", I'd most likely just go back to bed for another hour or so. If it's a port day, I might step out on the balcony to see how close we are to our stop.
azcurlytop Posted July 13, 2014 #49 Share Posted July 13, 2014 530am on cruise I would be walking the walking trail! Woohoo wish I was right now:)
DisneyNutMary Posted July 13, 2014 #50 Share Posted July 13, 2014 I'd probably grab a cup of coffee and head up to the bow and take in the view of where we are going. I've actually done this a few times on cruises with early port arrivals. New York is the best port arrival to watch as you sail in, but it's sad because it means the cruise is over.
