Rare DaisyUK Posted August 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Hi, a quick question for the ladies... is a good quality magnifying mirror provided in penthouse suites, or should I bring my own? Getting excited, we leave Monday.

Getting excited, we leave Monday. Not sure which ship you're on, but there is one on Riviera in the PH's. I didn't find it all that good, however. It's part of the makeup/desk area, and flips up as I remember. I had to hunch down to use it, not great.
bornfreenowexpensive Posted August 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Not one in Nautica lower cabins.
StanandJim Posted August 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Hi, a quick question for the ladies... is a good quality magnifying mirror provided in penthouse suites, or should I bring my own? Getting excited, we leave Monday. I use a magnifying mirror to put in my contacts, and you'll find one built into the underside of the dressing table on Marina & Riviera (it flips open for use, then closes to provide clear counter space.) It was fine for me, but if you prefer a great deal of light when using the mirror, it might be better to bring your own. We heard MANY complaints about the lighting in and around those mirrors. Wendy The Wanderer Posted August 2, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2014 Yes, that's the one I was talking about. And no, lighting was not great.

cotto22 Posted August 3, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) If there is no make up mirror that is satisfactory, I have a recommendation. I have a fold up travel one that I think I purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond that goes with me whenever I travel. It magnifies 10x on one side and is normal on the other and is lighted. Would highly recommend; think the brand is Floxite. Edited August 3, 2014 by cotto22
Rare DaisyUK Posted August 3, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Thank you all. Guess I'll find another corner in which to put my mirror. Or maybe pack another suitcase in which case I can bring even more 'stuff'!
Jancruz Posted August 3, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 3, 2014 I too bring mine that sticks on the mirror with suction and it is a great out of the way place for it.. Jancruz1
Travelcat2 Posted August 3, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 3, 2014 You can see the kind of the mirror that we're talking about at this site http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amagnifying%20mirror%20suction%20cup (the first four items listed). They work well and do not take up space in your luggage.
CintiPam Posted August 3, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 3, 2014 The lighting for applying makeup is abysmal on all the cruise ships on which I have sailed. However, perhaps that is a good thing! :D
cotto22 Posted August 3, 2014 #12 Share Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Guess I could posted a link to the floxite products on Amazon for anyone who might have been interested. These are pop up magnifying light up mirrors and they do fold flat for packing. Edited August 3, 2014 by cotto22
