Explorer 5 nighter--those who are recently back

Hi there. If we do self-assist debarkation, what time should I arrange for our pickup when we get back to Cape Liberty?

(we are not of any priority status with RCI)

Lori, since it's only a five nighter, can you handle your own bags? If you do self-assist, you could easily be outta there at 9:30, no sweat.

Hi, yes we usually handle our own bags even when we have 2 each. We wouldn't be outside earlier than 9:30 you think? (on other lines we're usually off by 8--but we are platinum on them)

Bear in mind at Cape Liberty you need to not only manage getting your bags down a flight of stairs but also onto the shuttle (they don't take your bags from you - you have to hold onto them yourself), so might want to pack light - but I do think you can get off closer to 8:30.

The issue with "how early" when going for "as early as possible" is that there are hundreds and hundreds of others who want the same thing.

 

It CAN get very jammed up because of that.

 

And as Geri said, it's complicated by the pinch-point of the shuttle bus. THAT is why it is not like disembarkation at any other American port.

They usually want you out of the stateroom by 8:30am or so.
