Thanks for the heads up. Better book tonight before the " sale " kicks in. :)

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks like this.

My voice goes up 20 octaves when I get started on the "Friends & Family" sale.

I am trying to book right now.

I looked at a cabin 4,230 for my wife and I alone

but if I add my two kids.... they go free but my wife and I suddenly have to pay $5,190

I mean do they really think anyone falls for this?

Sale/offers are just cover words for previous price rises. I have been looking at some UK cruises for next year and on average the have risen £700 pp - £1000 pp in the last four weeks.

So although all inclusive etc sound good, you are paying way more than last month before the offers.

I can't see the prices coming down any time soon if ever.

so could please sb exlain where the wow in this sale is??? Don't see anything wow'ish...

These WOW sales are generally beneficial to those who have no other perks, such as C&A or shareholder OBC.

When I checked the price of the cruise I booked for next August and saw the price increase, I knew there was a "sale" coming up:eek:

Sea Ya

I've been burned by the WOW Sale before. Got in with the low deposit then a week after my cabin price dropped by $500. A few days ago, I went to book an OV balcony on Allure for January 2015...$1800/pp. Just like you I smelled an upcoming "sale" and decided to hold off. I think I'll wait a bit longer.

chances are you can't put a 3rd and 4th in the cabin that you originally priced

The prices are high, for sure. But the reason the price for the first two went up is because for two people sailing it's half off the second person. So to add the "Friends and Family", you lose the BOGOHO. The prices that come up incorporate the BOGOHO without you having to do anything, so you get the impression that it "goes up" when you add the kids.

But, yeah, overall the prices seem high with this WOW sale. So tomorrow is a new sale, will prices go up again, or go down, since this sale isn't as "good" as the current one?

Honestly I don't see what all the hub-bub is all about.... Look at a cruise you like and look at the prices...

When you find one, or a price, that YOU find as reasonable for your time and money to take that cruise....book it and dont worry about it. I booked an Oasis Cruise recently that I know I could have saved several hundred on if I booked during the begining of the first BOGOHO sale...but so what...I think I still got a good rate for an oceanview balcony...I am still getting the product I want for what I consider a reasonable price.

So what it if MIGHT drop 100 bucks per person between booking and sailing (3-12 months)....Im not going to check the price everyday....

As long as you find the price fair and reasononable for the product you are getting in return....thats all that matters....

With how much Cruises costs when you add travel, drinks, incidentals, etc....whats a couple of bucks?

Whatever happened to "Truth-in-Advertising" ?

Honest straight forward pricing has given way to deceptive marketing and sales practices.

The Character of an organization is rooted in its leadership.

Senior leadership needs to stay intouch how the organization interfaces with potential customers and the resulting perception.

We originally booked at $3842.

Because I check frequently I saw that there was a Canadian resident sale.

I took advantage of that and we ended up paying $2980.

I saved $862 by taking 30 seconds to check prices !!

Sometimes you can save more then a couple bucks!

True but that is a unique situation and most of the time...the price change is not that much.

With Promotions and Sales (which the will have, its the only way to increase sales volume) and C&A discounts....they have to have flucating prices...it also is need to fill rooms with the business model of cruising...

Flat pricing up front all the time would put them out of business...

Now, with that said, I hate the RCCL website...I want to see a flat per person rate from the first screen to check....

vacation_junkie,

I have found the same happening on a number of cruises I am trying to book.

The other item I found RCL doing is increasing taxes and duty, some have

gone up by over 25%.

On our last 6 cruises, prices dropped after final payment, totalling over $4,500.

The problem we have if we wait until after final payment is getting cheap airfare.

The catch 22 scenario.

Cheers,

My wife and I are talking about buying airfare for a certain week we can get off and waiting until a couple weeks before that dateto book something.

With so many cruise lines we are bound to find a bargain somewhere. Since we have been to most of the islands many times we don't care we we go as long as go somewhere warm.

If you want a specific itinerary this might not work so well.

We have often talked about doing this. I think the sense of adventure along with the possible low cruise price, would make for a great trip!

The prices have gone up and down significantly regardless of the Canadian resident promo we ended up getting...

Taking the resident discount out of the equation.

It's been as high as $4339 and as low as $3509 which is an $830 difference.

And that's only in an 11 week time frame.

May 19th - Canadian Residents Sale $2980

May 20th - BOGOHO Sale $3509

June 2nd - WOW Sale $3509 no OBC

June 6th - BOGOHO Sale $3528

July 16th - Some 3rd psngr. discount sale $4115.76

July 25th -Some 3rd psngr. discount sale $4339

I agree.

For us DH won't fly anything but Non-stop direct so if we don't book as soon as the flight schedule is released on southwest...which is way before final payment we are out of luck!
