carri cruiser Posted August 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2014 I received an email today that said I could get $200.00 OBC if I booked a cruise before a certain date in October, we just got off the Amsterdam on Aug 17th!, my question... can I book a FCC while on board my coastal cruise in September and receive that $200.00 pp when I decide on an actual cruise to book? Thanks for any information you may have!
PathfinderEss Posted August 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2014 My thinking is no.......they want your to book an actual cruise before that certain date in October and buying a FCC would not qualify.
Rare Vict0riann Posted August 31, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Is it better to book a future cruise while you're on board, or to wait until you get home and hope for an email like that?
Alberta Quilter Posted August 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2014 I agree with Pathfinder. You need to book a cruise by October, not purchase a future cruise deposit. What you can do, is purchase your FCD onboard your coastal, and then use that to book your cruise by October. Then you should be able to get OBC from both the FCD and the email promo. At least, that's what I'm hoping will happen. I already have the FCD. I'm just waiting for the next cruise to get the promo email to book another cruise. Victoriann, I think that might answer your question too, but I'm not totally sure if it's better to book onboard or wait for the promo email. I think it's better to wait but we will see if others agree or disagree.
Alberta Quilter Posted August 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Can you provide the details of the promo, please, Carri? Like cabin category, and is it per person or cabin total? I want to talk to the FCC onboard to see what the perks are if we book onboard to compare with the promo.
Cruising-along Posted August 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Is this what you got, Linda? I got this after our Eurodam cruise: Thank you for sailing with us Dear xxxxxxx, On behalf of everyone at Holland America Line, thank you for joining us on your recent voyage aboard the ms Eurodam. We hope that every cruise detail exceeded your expectations. To show our appreciation for choosing Holland America Line, please accept a special bonus of up to $200 per person shipboard credit on your next new cruise booking. (You must book by October 15, 2014, to receive this special offer.) View shipboard credit details. It says "up to $200 per person". We already booked our next cruise while aboard the Eurodam (they were having a special during that cruise if we booked, not just purchase a Future Cruise Credit like we usually do. I think this is the "Welcome Back" OBC offer, and our PCC applied it to the cruise we just booked. (you must book by October 29th 2014 to receive this special offer... then there is a chart showing how much actual $$$ you get for booking a certain amount of days, and certain cabins.... I see now I should've read the WHOLE letter... as Gilda Radnor would say on SNL............... never mind!! Clipper, I would say unless you are booking a 51day cruise, it would be better to book on board!! Linda, we did book onboard and our PCC still gave us this Welcome Back OBC. Krazy Kruizers Posted August 31, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 31, 2014 That is wonderful for those of you who can get 2 shipboard credits from HAL.
LindaM Posted August 31, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 31, 2014 We had already booked a cruise before our cruise in July. HAL applied the OBC to that cruise, at the request of our TA. Make sure you note the code on the email. They will need it. Being able to use the casino to take out the OBC was wonderful. We came off the ship with a bill for $2.45. Of course, Explore4 helped that as well!

SilvertoGold Posted August 31, 2014 #15 Share Posted August 31, 2014 OP: A few mnths ago we had the same kind of promo, $200 pp if you book by a certain date. It replaced the ZPM Welcome back promo. We got the FCD/FCC OBC, plus the promo for a $50.pp Bev Card.
