USVI-4-me Posted August 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Is there a poster to help me understand the technique of exercising on the balcony, doing laps at the pool and drinking Bloody Mary's for refreshment after a full breakfast? It's been a while since the topic was addressed. I need refreshment of information or will resort to playing jacks and diamonds. Are drinks complimentary in the casino? Thank you for all assistance. -Marisa Edited August 31, 2014 by USVI-4-me

Perhaps you could enlighten us on what you understand about the three activities?:)

miched Posted August 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2014 We try to get one of the large balconies on the slant. We took a portable DVD player and did our Insanity workout or T25, We no longer do that as although we always used the stairs walked to and around the towns, tried not to over eat or indulge in a ton of tasteless deserts we still gained weight. We now decided to skip the exercise and enjoy some time to give our bodies some rest and enjoy the cruise. We use a Fitbit that records steps and flights of stairs going up but don't count when going down a average day on the Reflection for us was 18,000 steps and 92 flights of stairs. The most was when we walked town and back from Crown Bay in St Thomas. We had 32,000 steps and 145 flights (floors) of stairs. We laugh about how useless it is to workout on a cruise ship trying to off set the calories when one drink will require 30 minutes or more of intense exercise. Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
Sloop-JohnB Posted August 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2014 LOL Lois. Just what I was thinking. miched Posted August 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 31, 2014 Of course it does... It is considered an "elbow flex" ... Good for preventing tennis elbow ;) Cheers! Also helps to build up the biceps. ;) I have been told many times by my wife that they wouldn't have to embalm me when I die because of the alcohol already in my system. My response is that according to the monks it is liquid bread, grain, water and yeast. Plus for all the bible thumpers there is a verse that reads eat, drink and be merry. People look at me and want to know how I stay so trim. It is because I am on a beer diet. I look at something and decide what do I want more the donut that has 300 to 500 plus calories or 2 beers. I know that I will enjoy the beers more than that donut and it has no fat, or cholesterol. :D Drink up 🍸🍺🍻☕

Can Zenith's pick up a Bloody Mary in Michaels and take it away to the balcony? Or, go to the Elite Breakfast for said drink? -Marisa Edited August 31, 2014 by USVI-4-me

As for the breakfast question?...if the procedures are the same as for the evening cocktails, I would guess they would apply. Evening cocktails? They have always asked for drinks to remain inside the venue. I have never tried taking a drink with me so I can't give you 100% correct answer. Maybe Arno, Charles or Tom can give you a Zenith answer.

USVI-4-me Posted September 1, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Who are you asking? Everyone in general? Lois, thank you for asking. Excuse my typing. I'm having trouble with my vision. I just got through 2 rotator cuff surgeries now doing eye surgeries. .............. About my questions on this thread: Yes, I'm asking everyone in general if they remember the posts from a regular Jack who posted often on this forum. There was a thread about him a few weeks ago, last post was in late August -14 but the thread is now gone. DKRetired and Wino-O posted on that thread. I did not. There was much information to be gained from "Jack". He is missed. THe last time he posted on the CC board was May when he asked about a bus from Ft. Myer to the Ft.Lauderdale cruse port. I hope for a Transatlantic cruise. He cruises Celebrity and gives positive feedback regarding exercise, the Elite Drinks, Aqua Class cabins, etc. He's missed. I'd like information about exercise the Elite breakfast drinks and what is the best exercise program on a Celebrity balcony. He had additions to cruising after rotator cuff surgery and getting the exercises done aboard ship. I don't go to the Fitness center, those people are too buff. I see them coming out to the Solarium Café for nutritious foods in the am. I'd be embarrassed. My balcony is used for sits and drying a bit of laundry. Oops on the laundry. Jack's post give me motivation. Post about exercise is motivational no matter who gives the answers. Have a nice day, again thank you for asking. It's a general audience question. It will be better yet to hear from Jack. -Marisa Edited September 1, 2014 by USVI-4-me
Rare Lois R Posted September 1, 2014 #15 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Nope, I don't exercise on a cruise. I may use the stairs instead of the elevator sometimes. I know Arno and Charles are both Zenith members so maybe they will see your question and give an answer. But again, I would think you are not permitted to take drinks out of Michael's Club. I know you are asked to not remove them for evening cocktails so I would think the same policy would apply to breakfast.
USVI-4-me Posted September 1, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Possibly, "elite" vouchers make it possible to order at a bar and carry the drink away to drink later, even after exercising on the balcony. -Marisa

Gonzo70 Posted September 2, 2014 #19 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Vis a vis, I too enjoy vigorous pool walking and other ancillary exercises (with water nearby for hydration during said regimen) after a nice BM and a lox & bagel sans the cream cheese & bagel at Michael's. :D
CathyCruises Posted September 2, 2014 #20 Share Posted September 2, 2014 Okay, this is definitely one of the most confusing threads I have ever read! I BELIEVE the OP is asking about JackDiamond who seems to have disappeared from the boards; no clue on that. No clue whatsoever about exercising on the balcony. As to Bloody Marys on the balcony, you cannot carry out drinks from the Elite breakfast (or cocktail party) but I'm not sure if suite cruisers can carry them out of Michael's--that's a definite possibility. Vouchers are only valid from 5PM to 7PM, and if your cruise offers them, yes you can carry drinks away from the bars--but that may not help with the Bloody Mary/AM question. Laps at the pool would be difficult unless you went very early in the morning; I have seen people trying to do laps in the solarium pool but there seems to be a lot of dodging other bathers going on. I HOPE this helps a little. . .but I'm still confused

However, I wouldn't mind doing laps up top and this could be done with a Bloody Mary in hand, right?? :p
