Complimentary Champagne

We will be getting a bottle of champagne on our upcoming cruise as part of an incentive with our booking. If we take the bottle to the MDR or Crown Grill, will we charged a corkage fee?

You most likely will receive a "gift certificate" in your cabin for a bottle of wine worth "x amount". You can take this to dinner with you wherever and get the free bottle or a more expensive bottle and pay the difference.

 

Unless things have changed, you won't receive the bottle in your room.

No, the certificate will be for a bottle of champagne, not wine... However, OP could probably exchange it for wine...

Nina - The point is that it will be a certificate and not a real bottle. They were worried about getting charged for corkage and I was trying to explain that they will know it is from Princess as they will turn in the certificate when they want it at a restaurant. It won't be a bottle in the room waiting for them and that they will take it to a restaurant.

 

Heck, they can turn it in for OBC if they want.

I would much prefer a certificate! My travel agent used to send a bottle oe cham as a booking gift - I hate it - was able to change it for wine some times, but much easier with a paper cert. Good news!

Thanks for all the replies. The Champagne is supposed to be a $60 bottle (can't remember the name) but we shall see. Hope it is halfway decent.:D
