cbkb101 Posted September 22, 2014 #26 Share Posted September 22, 2014 People use them to carry their sea pass card. I never use them and think it makes you look like you are at a convention. However it seems that many passengers like them so it is a personal choice. Thank you all for your answers! Conventions to me = work and that is what we are getting as far away from as possible! :p
Fat Paul Posted September 22, 2014 #27 Share Posted September 22, 2014 We are Diamond and have always sailed in at least a Jr. Suite. Never been given a lanyard. We have however received "status" pins.
Folk Singer Posted September 23, 2014 #28 Share Posted September 23, 2014 They do sell the lanyards in the giftshop, but we never found any in our cabin. We never buy them, but have never had them in our cabins either.
Folk Singer Posted September 23, 2014 #29 Share Posted September 23, 2014 I have never seen a lanyard in my room unless its the one i bought at the logo shop for 5.95$ I am semi excited about getting my Platium pin next cruise :) Enjoy and have fun. The weather in NB is one I would be cruising to get away from. Esp in the winter months.

cruisinfanatic Posted September 23, 2014 #32 Share Posted September 23, 2014 Has Royal Caribbean changed recently about giving lanyards and pins to returning Crown and Anchor Members? They use to have them in the room upon your arrival. My daughter just came off the Allure of the Seas and this is her 4th cruise aboard Royal Caribbean and she said that they didn't have them in the room like previous cruises. Since when was this???? Never seen one and wouldn't wear it anyway. Maybe the TA bought it
2004corvette Posted September 23, 2014 #33 Share Posted September 23, 2014 i received a comp lanyard in the casino after leaving my Gold seapass card in a slot machine..... supposedly the card was found in another machine and turned in to the Casino Cashier who returned it to me along with a lanyard so i would not forget it in the machine again....later found out the card was used to purchase several drinks by someone else gambling.... the charges were deleted from my account when i questioned my bill with Guest Services the last night of our sailing...:) well the lanyard certainly was not a freebie considering i lost mucho $$$ in the casino on that cruise....
lovesthebeach2 Posted September 23, 2014 #34 Share Posted September 23, 2014 No lanyard or any type of standard pin for us either. OP - are you sure it was RCCL? M We've never received lanyards OR pins and we are platinum status, soon to be emerald. I have received lanyards from Disney.....
MaverickCSX Posted September 24, 2014 #35 Share Posted September 24, 2014 Our kids got their AO lanyards upon registration. We purchased one from giftshop and used it to carry our sea passes wherever we went... So much easier to just have it tucked under my shirt than fumbling around in a pocket or my wife's handbag
Hazydavo Posted September 24, 2014 #36 Share Posted September 24, 2014 Royal Caribbean gave out lanyards as a gift at a Meet and Mingle, but I've never gotten them in the cabin. Cool, that sounds good. Anyone else got them at the meet and mingle?

Folk Singer Posted September 24, 2014 #38 Share Posted September 24, 2014 Cool, that sounds good. Anyone else got them at the meet and mingle? No I think one of the reasons for this was the shear number of CC at M&M on the TA's 100-140+.
OKC Cruisers Posted September 24, 2014 #39 Share Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Cool, that sounds good. Anyone else got them at the meet and mingle? Never got a "lanyard" per se. At all of the last 5 or 6 M&M's we have attended we were given the "Memo Pad on a String" as we call them. It is a small notebook with a small pen that is attached via a plastic loop. It also has a clear plastic pocket on it that will hold your seapass or other card. We've gotten so many of them that we now just leave them in our cabin upon departing. Maybe the OP was in one of our stateroom's after us! :D The only pins we actually received were our "Gold" pins, which they don't even have anymore I don't think. Our Platinum and Emerald pins we had to see the Loyalty Ambassador on board to get. Edited September 24, 2014 by OKC Cruisers

My daughter just came off the Allure of the Seas and this is her 4th cruise aboard Royal Caribbean and she said that they didn't have them in the room like previous cruises. I have NEVER been offered a lanyard by Royal Caribbean. At ANY level of C&A status. They DO give them to kids in Adventure Ocean. Pins are presented when you achieve a new level. On a 4th cruise, you are not reaching a new level, usually. (have you been cruising in suites?) Let me add to the chorus -- no lanyard or pins on ANY of our sailings. Ever. BDL Posted September 24, 2014 #44 Share Posted September 24, 2014 No, never a fortunate one for a suite. The last two Royal Caribbean Cruises we have been on we had lanyards in our room along with pins. Maybe I was just lucky I guess. If you booked with a TA is it possible they sent you them as a gift? Did you see others on board with them? I just turned Diamond on my last cruise and have never received lanyards. I did get a pin at Platinum but never at Emerald. Since the Platinum one sits in the junk drawer I never asked for an Emerald one. We'll see if I get one now as Diamond.
travelgoddess1 Posted September 24, 2014 #45 Share Posted September 24, 2014 I think the OP indicated that lanyards and pins were placed in the cabin on each of her daughter's previous 3 RCL cruises, but not on the 4th. Whatever pins she may have gotten on the first 3, they were most likely not Crown & Anchor pins. My guess is that in relating the information, the story has morphed.
