Okay, how many of the original bunch are still around?

Recommended Posts

Coka!!!! I had no idea that you had changed your screen name. Are you still dressing in themes for your cruises? I used to love reading about those.

Lori and Pam - it looks like I'm coming too! But DH is coming with me. There was no way I was going to meet this bunch that I've been talking to for so long without him. I think a friend of mine (Sue) and her DH are also ready to book. We should do it sometime next week.

Beth, your DH is a brave man. I talked mine into cruising with 2 of the CSs and their DHs but not sure if I can talk him into this one. {sigh}

Lill--talk harder!! My goodness, how can I cruise without hearing your delightful laugh off the balcony a deck above mine? The SO and I are booked--tell your DH that you HAVE to cruise with the group!

Hello all my fellow CFB sisters. I was also among the original posters of the then newly established CFB. I occasionally check in to see what is going on, but rarely post as I had not seen much action from the original bunch. How about we all play catch up and let each other in on what has been going on in our lives over the last years.....family, cruising, vacationing....ect....even a few fashion tips from Oaktown would be a welcome addition....hahahahahah....
I will check in often and I hope we can get this thing going again....It was such fun. I felt like I knew you all.....Chris

Diane, Congrats on the booking! You know it's a miracle I didn't fall overboard trying to hang over the balcony. LOL
Beth, too funny! I won't give up.
Chris, hello! I think of you whenever I see the sausage thingies in the store. LOL It's time for me to buy a new one. I've lost over 40 lbs since I bought the last one.

Oh what joy to receive Lori's email. What a blessing all those wonderful conversations were and how I still treasure all the friendships forged. Haven't cruised since '01, paying private school tuition now, not sure when we'll get to sail the high seas again, but I can dream....

Our daughter (for whom many offered prayers is doing so well...thank God...) She's now 14 and turning into quite and amazing person. I'm teaching kindergarten full time now, so time is more limited. (26 days till summer break)

So often, I've thought of so many of you and the many laughs at ourselves we had. What a hoot... I am so glad that this is back at the top... Let's keep things going, I think what we had was special...oooh, I sound like a cheap novel, the kind you read on a ship....

Love to all and yours,

Patti S

Patti! So glad you found your way back. And SUPER happy about Molly! I didn't realize back then that our daughters are nearly the same age. Mine just turned 13. She often makes comments that remind me of your scary journey. So of course I'm on top on it, thanks to you!

I hope that maybe somehow you would be able to make this cruise. But until such time, I'm thrilled that we are again emailing!

Patti I'm so happy to hear Molly is doing well. I can't believe that she's 14 now. But then, I can't believe that I'm not 29 either. Keep in touch. It's nice to hear from old friends again.

Wow! It's to nice to be missed and thought of so kindly. Molli was looking over my shoulder the other day and laughed as she recognized the sight. Do you still talk to all those people mom? It was fun to let her know that I'd reconnected. Now of course, she thinks we're planning another cruise! The scary part is that now she is the one that will be on the fashion boards. Teenagers!!!! I need a cruise to help get through these years!!!

We had a "Preakness" party yesterday. What a blast! I recall watching the draw on our verandah in '01 for the Preakness hoping that Point Given would get a good post position. So now when we celebrate any of the triple crown races, my mind "floats" back to the sea. It was fun, we sailed two years in a row the week after the Derby.

Hubby just gave me a "we'll see" about the '05 sailing..... We could all watch the Breeders' Cup! And wear fashionable hats of course. Thanks to all who remembered Molli.... you'll never know how grateful I am for your support and prayers during that time...

His peace,

Patti S.

Chris, great to see you again!

Hi everyone
It is so good to see all of the familiar names posting.
We were hoping to cruise this summer but our oldest dd got married last summer and is expecting her first baby in July. She and her dh live in Illinois (he is an officer is the airforce) so of course we will head up there for the birth and I will stay with her to help for a week or two......so that pretty much did in the cruise idea for the summer.
I was so excited to see that Princess is going to start cruising out of Galveston....one more close by cruising option.
oh by the way.....my dd and her new hubby went on a RCL cruise out of Galveston Tx. for their honeymoon last summer and I am happy to report that she definetely falls into the Overplanning catagory. She had the largest suitcase I have ever seen packed with enough outfits to see her through many weeks at sea....but as a typical Cruise fashion sister she wanted choices.heheheheh....And of course she had a sausage thingee to smoothe out the bumps (like she has any)....Chris

Sorry Patti, I just booked you for this cruise in my head! So you have no option. I would be so thrilled to watch the breeders cup with you on this trip! But for this year, as far as horse racing goes...KICK *** SMARTY JONES!!! (Am I allowed to say that?)

Well, I am not an original but found your thread and wound up on the Tiara cruise because of it and have now booked the Tini cruise so can I horn in? elbows flying. I have two confessions--1) I never did figure out what a sausage thingy was and 2) I have a real hard time remembering monikers (let alone changed ones!) so bear with me.

Ok MsRaye I will fill you in on the sausage thingee....They are the tight lycra all in one slip, bra and girdle things to wear under a dress to hide the mutitudes....hehehhe....Way back when I was looking for a comfortable one to wear under my formal for the cruise i was taking and asked if any of the ladies had any advise....I said that they remind me a the skin on a sausage, since they are so form fitting....hence the sausage thingee.....Chris

Msraye!! How nice to see you here. Will Helen be joining you on the Real-Tini Adventure?

For those of you who didn't know, MSraye was one of my lovely dinner companions on the Tiara Cruise along with Debbie and her DH. OK, once more for everyone - WHOO HOO!

Hi Raye! Great to "see" you. What all cruises do you have in the works now?
After sailing together on the ET cruise, Msraye and I ended up on another cruise together which was a nice surprise!

Thanks for the info on sausage thingee--I am going to check out Hanes right away! Yes Helen is going on the tini cruise too! as well as two more of our friends. It's goin' to be a hoot and a holler. Lill, you just gotta get in on the cruise. You will have vacation by then. How did your traveling companion like Victoria? Lill and I missed it cause the seas were to rough to get into the pier so missed it altogether.

Now how did I miss this thread? Hi Cruise Sisters! It's good to see everyone back here again!

Hmmm, that cruise is just about the same time that Linda (my ET cruise roomie) and I are going to FL to celebrate our DH's 60th birthdays....I wonder if it would be possible for us to sneak away from our DHs and join the cruise???? Is it leaving from Ft. Lauderdale? Mir, I need facts, simply the facts!

I PROMISE not to bring any wild and crazy people along with me this time...there's enough of us there already without me doing that!!!

Shari

Shari, the cruise would be perfect gifts for the birthday boys. Tell Linda I said hi.

Raye, since we didn't get to port in Victoria she had to take the ferry back from Seattle. She spent the week and loved it.
