Drink the the ship's water. It is purer than anything you can buy. OR bring a Brita filter bottle and make your own bottles of water. They are all good options.:D
NativeSoCal Posted October 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2014 (edited) We brought a case of bottled water on board. Wrapped around it once or twice with duct tape to reinforce, affixed a luggage tag with clear packing tape so it was easily read. Dropped off with checked luggage. It was delivered to cabin with other checked bags. Easy Peasy! :D Edited October 23, 2014 by NativeSoCal

Someone posited that the ship uses reverse osmosis to filter water. It's better than anything you can buy. DH and I bring a couple of bottles with us to refill when we go ashore. Have not had issues with ship's water on any of our cruises. Others may have had different experiences.
Pam in CA Posted October 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 24, 2014 No problem bringing water on the ship but I'm not sure why since the water onboard is as good or better than a lot of bottled water. Kind of like bringing tulips to Holland or chocolate to Switzerland. :)
beanersts Posted October 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 24, 2014 I brought a water bottle on and always had bartender give me ice and water. The shipboard water is just a good and save you the trouble of lugging on a case of water. Bringing on more plastic just creates more waste that is hard to dispose of. pablo222 Posted October 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2014 Someone posited that the ship uses reverse osmosis to filter water. Someone may have posted this, but it is not correct. Princess either bunkers water in port, or uses flash evaporation to produce fresh water. On most cruises, they have a lot of waste heat. On some itineraries where they are not cruise at speed for a long enough period, they can't make water fast enough and have to buy in port. Sometimes, there is a behind the scenes program running on board, and flash evaporation is one of the things that is covered. They also collect air conditioning condensate, and use that for things like deck washing.
