AdamKnows Posted October 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2014 The Oasis is roughly 2.5 hours late getting out of Port Everglades. Does anyone have any idea why?

kelkel2 Posted October 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I came here to ask the very same question. I saw that it hadn't left yet. Curious minds would like to know!
cruisebirdie Posted October 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I was wondering why the delay too. On prior TA cruise, there were delays and long lines to disembark. A comment from a passenger on board, stated that the Oasis had troubles clearing Customs. http://instagram.com/p/uqR4n2pJg9/?modal=true Looks like Oasis is starting to move away from the dock. Firefighterhoop Posted October 28, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Ship's first time back in the US after a refurb = Coast Guard Inspection and possible USPH. Same thing happened with the Vision last year after it did the TransAtlantic back into Miami.
reedprincess Posted October 28, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 28, 2014 The Oasis is roughly 2.5 hours late getting out of Port Everglades. Does anyone have any idea why? Yes. People were still disembarking the ship as late as 3pm and beyond. Can't load till everyone is cleared from previous sailing. With it being first arrival to US after being in Europe, not only guests but all the crew had to clear immigration and customs (unlike it's standard closed loop sailings). At 7:30am this morning, there were three lines open for guests.....it improved as the crew cleared out and more ICE agents showed up, but by then the queues were beyond ridiculous. People with disembarkation times of 10 were finally getting off at about 1, then another 1-2 hours to clear immigration and customs. Shambles from US govt and by RCI both. RCI really should have had some water and such available for those stuck waiting till after 2. We were fortunate and out of the terminal by just before 8 am. Luggage valet worked like a champ and we waited in immigration /customs just about 50 minutes. Could see the lines building as we waited.. .. Not pretty. I understand she sailed tonight around 8, so only an hour late from her scheduled time for today. Impressive actually.

As posted above, she was scheduled to leave at 7:00PM as opposed to the schedule everyone is used to. She sailed away around 7:40PM. 40 minutes late is just about right on schedule considering. aurelius180 Posted October 28, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 28, 2014 We disembarked from Vision yesterday and Port Everglades was packed. There were 6 ships in port including the Oasis and quite a bit of construction going on at the port. We did a later disembarkation at 9:10 and it was delayed because immigration was moving slower than expected. When we were leaving the Port, sometime after 10am, the traffic to enter was practically backed up to A1A. Partly due to construction vehicles blocking that side of the road in trying to enter a construction site.
