bradlkm Posted November 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I'm debating one of the beverage packages on our Brilliance of the Seas trip next week, and one of the deciding factors is the re-usability of the included soda cup. Can anyone tell me about how many ounces these hold? I'm hoping it will hold enough coffee when I get back on land. ;)
Clarea Posted November 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Guessing about 20oz.
Justmekaren918 Posted November 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I would say about 10 to 12 oz's and if coffee I would say cool to ice coffee.
Justmekaren918 Posted November 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 14, 2014 FYI: No soda freestyle machine on Brilliance.
Rare LMaxwell Posted November 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I would say about 10 to 12 oz's and if coffee I would say cool to ice coffee. That's about right. I have some of the newer cups and they can't hold a regular can of soda. They are big outside but small inside; well insulated though.

matj2000 Posted November 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I wouldn't be seen with one of those cups. Not even on the ship. We have a box full of those things and will never use them.
pennielz Posted November 14, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I pulled one out of the cabinet and measured! No ice, it holds exactly 16 ounces of liquid!
Rare LMaxwell Posted November 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I pulled one out of the cabinet and measured! No ice, it holds exactly 16 ounces of liquid! Is that the cup you have because newer ones definitely hold less than the ones from just a year or two ago.
reallyitsmema Posted November 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks for the information! (Special thanks to Karen for the pictures!) Just an FYI, the new cups specifically say for cold beverages only on the lid. I agree with pennielz, they hold between 16-18 ounces.

I just measured one I got this past June on the Enchantment and it holds 16oz. with about 1/2 inch to spare

Rare JessyCruises Posted November 14, 2014 #13 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Sorry to highjack the thread, but do you still get cups if there is no freestyle machine onboard?
tm3750 Posted November 14, 2014 #14 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I believe they still give the cups if you buy the package
jdg134 Posted November 14, 2014 #15 Share Posted November 14, 2014 If you have the Ultimate package, and want a coke in the dining room, bar, pool, etc., will I need to bring my free soda cup (beverage cup) to receive it w/out charge? We will be on the Navigator of the Seas, and from what I've read, there is NO freestyle machine. Correct, no Freestyle on Navigator. In the dining room (or any bar), you can just show your SeaPass card and get soda. Your choice will be limited to about 6 flavors. George C Posted November 14, 2014 #17 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I believe they still give the cups if you buy the package We bought the drink package and was given the 2 nice mugs, this was 6 months ago and they still have not been used, But we loved the drink package
newgrange Posted November 14, 2014 #18 Share Posted November 14, 2014 We left the two cups behind us in the cabin. Hideous things.
melted2002 Posted November 14, 2014 #19 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Can I use this cup to get my Baileys ? or any other alcoholic cocktail ?
Justmekaren918 Posted November 14, 2014 #20 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Yes you do get cups if you get beverage package on Brilliance and Vision and others. You just have too go to the bars to have them filled. SN: Rumor is they are adding a machine to Liberty. My first time on RC with one next March. flpab Posted November 14, 2014 #21 Share Posted November 14, 2014 It is no more hideous than any other insulted coffee cup. I liked it as it kept ice for a long time. Works great for ice coffee. I can't understand the hate for a glass. You think you are better if you buy drinks all day long from the bar per glass? Apparently you carried one around on a cruise if you have a box of them at home now.
powelweb Posted November 14, 2014 #22 Share Posted November 14, 2014 I am thinking of getting a beverage package on my quantum cruise since it sounds like they have a freestyle machine onboard and would be able to use the mug with that.
bighairtexan Posted November 14, 2014 #23 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Not only would you be ABLE to use the provided insulated cup w/ a freestyle machine, you HAVE to use it on the machines. It has an RIFD chip in it to make the machine work.
pennielz Posted November 14, 2014 #24 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Is that the cup you have because newer ones definitely hold less than the ones from just a year or two ago. It is one I got in September on Majesty. It was for the Freestle machine.
Clarea Posted November 15, 2014 #25 Share Posted November 15, 2014 Can I use this cup to get my Baileys ? or any other alcoholic cocktail ? I doubt they would use the cup for your Bailey's or cocktail. Just pour the cocktail in your cup.
