BluBonett, how was that Navigator cruise? I came here looking for the same info. We are about to book the Royal Family Suite, #8694. I see all sorts of pictures of "similar" suites on other ships, but I can't figure out what's what. They are all decorated entirely differently and they look like different configurations! The picture on the RC website of this room looks like something much fancier, with a grand piano in it. I don't think that is right. And they don't show the bedrooms, or the balcony which is "partially obstructed." Do you have any pictures? Comments? Please? Appreciate it greatly...

The Royal Family Suite does not have a piano - that is in the Royal Suite, which is a different stateroom altogether. Although actual square footage and balcony size varies by ship class, they are all configured essentially the same.

One bedroom with two single convertible beds and two Murphy beds the come down from the ceiling along the side walls, a standard shower bath, a second junior suite style bath with a tub, a master bedroom with two single convertible beds, and a living room area with a larger foldout couch / bed, chairs and coffee / end tables.

The deck is large extending the width of the stateroom. Typically there will be a table with chairs and additional lounge chairs in total to accommodate your party.

The obstruction on Voyager / Freedom class ships is the superstructure itself which on that design extends out from the back of the ship limiting your direct downward view but not restricting the outward view.

They are very nice and well proportioned suites and work well in our experience for families.

Thank you! So the "master" bedroom has the bathtub?

It's so weird that there are no pictures of this suite anywhere, except a couple that are many years old. And even the one on the RC site is the wrong one!

Really appreciate the quick reply.

Yes - the larger bathroom with the tub is in the MBR. We were in this suite on Grandeur, which has four RFS's - two midships and two aft corner. We were in an aft corner and the deck was huge! This particular suite design is a little different due to the corner wrapped deck - which is somewhat larger than the others - and a slight turn in the hall. But overall they are all very similar.

We had 6 lounge chairs, a round dining table, 5 dining chairs, and an end table all on the deck for our family and it was wonderful. We had a total of 6 adults and a young child (for whom they provided a pack and play crib) and we were very comfortable. The ones on Voyager class are similar but not corner locations.

If you google RCI royal family suites and click on images. there are plenty of diagrams and pictures. But there are other suites included so just be sure you are seeing the right ones. This link is to a correct diagram for the Voyager and Freedom class ships.
