Brilliance #9254...pros/cons.....keep it or try to switch cabins ?

Recommended Posts

Did a last minute cruise booking and now currently booked and paid for #9254 on an upcoming sailing aboard Brilliance.....have since looked at other CC threads and a few pics of the cabin & supposedly larger balcony online and am now having second thoughts about this cabin selection due to the obscured shaped balcony with a greatly obstructed view and also the long walk which we would not mind if it was an aft stateroom with full views.

Since no Suites were available i booked this cabin without doing my normal pre-booking research and asking of you my fellow knowledgeable CC members.

Currently no Suites are available so i asked to be placed on a Suite waiting list.....a D1 & D2 and a couple E1 & E2's all with unobstructed views have become available.

Will upgrade to a JS or GS for sure if one becomes available ~ if not should i keep #9254 or move to another cabin ?

your Thoughts/Feedback/Opinions please.......

Thanks,

Scott

only D's available.....9252 & 9598

only E available........7164

slim pickings ~ not much to choose from...:(

regardless whichever cabin we do finally end up in (hopefully a Suite) we will have a fantabulous cruise as long as the drink package is flowing and the casino open and of course sunny skies and calm seas...:D

I would switch to 9598. It is centrally located right near the mid ship staircase and elevators. The only problem is it is a connecting cabin. I don't know how you feel about that. We have sailed in that group of cabins on the Jewel and Serenade, same class as Brilliance, and we loved the location. We will be in 9592 on the Brilliance in July.

There is quite a bit of "vibration" in the aft section of this ship....I found it (and the looooong walk) annoying. But, the view really isn't "obstructed", so don't worry about that!

thanks for the replies.....unless some late cancellations looks like #9254 will be our cabin....:)

now no Suites or D & E categories available so guessing no cabin switching or C & A upgrades....:(

as for the "longggggg walk" not a bad thing ~ i can walk off the extra calories i consume on board....

the "vibrations" will make her happy and my drink will remain shaken & stirred ~ so that is a good thing....:D

will report back after the cruise once i sober up.....:D

cheers....

I have had this exact room on Jewel of the Seas which is in the same class. Same route too out of Tampa.

The room is awesome. The obstruction is negligible especially considering the size of the balcony.

I would keep it. If you are on the 01/22 cruise I envy you as i was hoping the price of that cabin went down so I could snatch it up. I noticed it lingered there for awhile.
