PunkyH Posted January 12, 2015 #27 Share Posted January 12, 2015 Do they have an expiration date?? I haven't tried buying a card. Can you use them for down payment on the ship for a future cruise? Thanks..
Tortoiselvr Posted January 12, 2015 #28 Share Posted January 12, 2015 I bought 2 $500 cards yesterday for $900 and put down the deposit on the Magic for May. Turn around time was maybe a minute or two. (also, for anyone who may be travelling with others who don't use verizon, I used a different credit card for one card for a travel companion (my dad) - and it went through just fine, so he was able to get the 10% off, too)

johnlcruise Posted January 14, 2015 #30 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Question? You all talk about Gift Cards. Verizon sent me gift certificates. That say to sign and mail to Carnival for credit. I have already paid off the room as we are leaving in 3 weeks. Can I just take the certificates with me to have them apply SBC?? Thanks

Thanks John there are e gift cards and e certificates. I'm not sure how the certificates work. You should call Carnival asap and find out how you can use them. Thanks If you received the paper certificates that are $100 each, blue around the edges that are called Cruise Dollars, you ordered the "Cruise Booking Certificate" rather than the eGift cards. Those can only be applied to the purchase of a cruise, and cannot be applied to OBC or anything else :(

sealgirl Posted January 14, 2015 #34 Share Posted January 14, 2015 Just so you know, if you don't use all of your gift card, Carnival mails you a rebate check :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mjschro Posted January 14, 2015 #35 Share Posted January 14, 2015 If you want Carnival to send you a rebate check, that is fine, but as stated earlier this is the alternative: if you have a balance the last night from EGift Cards, go to the Casino and download that same amount to a slot machine and cash in at the Casino Cashier cage. Thanks for that tip, brilliant idea! I was worried about applying too much to OBC but won't worry now knowing I can get my money back. That's exactly what we did our last night on the Conquest in December-- very, very easy to do. Sent From My IPad
SNJCruisers Posted January 15, 2015 #39 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Had read that earlier this week, the ecards were sold out. Just bought 850 worth to use towards Sail & Sign and had gotten 550 previously to pay off the cruise. Saved 140.00. Gratuities, Cheers, Steakhouse all covered. :)

cruizinisthebest Posted January 15, 2015 #43 Share Posted January 15, 2015 Yes; there's limit to the amount of egift cards you can use. There's a limit with how many gift card you can use in one transaction. 5 gift cards max. But you can do as many transactions as you want.

sunlover5 Posted January 17, 2015 #46 Share Posted January 17, 2015 So I just went on my Verizon account and found out I have quite a few points. I want to buy some e-gift cards for gratuities and maybe a little extra. Do I apply them before my cruise or just take the cards and do it onboard and they will go to my onboard bill not matter what is on there??? Thank you! WiddyTwo Posted January 27, 2015 #50 Share Posted January 27, 2015 The cards aren't available right now. Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to pop back onto the website? I'm heading down to miami Friday and my cruise leaves Saturday, so hopefully they're available soon!
