I was thinking about a cleanliness issue of having a mattress on a balcony floor.

I would not want to be the next passenger to use that mattress.

On a positive note, would the nose strips sold to prevent snoring help your friend?

She may be able to buy some at the next port.

Just a suggestion.

They may not help if her problem is severe enough to require a CPAP machine.

Hope you both have a good (restful)cruise.

It appears that everyone found their way and we had an awesome meet and greet!!! Well attended by all of the Cruise Critic members and best of all a LOT of the Senior Officers attended!

The Hotel Director, Michael, spoke and introduced the other officers. Some of those attending included the Guest Services Manager, Safety Officer and my personal favorite, the Food & Beverage Director. The first thing Michael said was "we are well aware that there is no center staircase..." We all laughed...he also said that on "R3" (the next ship) they'd already decided to include one. Problem solved :) the head chef also made an appearance and I was able to thank him in person for the new love of my life. I'm already dreaming of breakfast tomorrow morning!

Also attending a bit later after that group had left was the Maitre D, Mario who also greeted the group. And finally, at the end, the captain himself showed up. He was very nice...shook everyone's hands and posed for a few photo ops. He's excited about arriving in Barbados as that's when is vacation starts. The "new" captain is already onboard and they are working on their handover.

As soon as we finished the meet and greet I ran over to the casino to get things set up for our slot pull at 3:00 today. As we have 35 people attending I wanted to make sure they were prepared. They helped me pick a slot machine and let me know that they'd be ready for us at 3:00.

And here I am now at Alfredo's. I'm totally shocked as the place is completely empty. PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING!!!! I am salivating as I wait for my Margarita pizza...life just doesn't get any better than this!!!

Busy afternoon planned...more later!!!!

OP - thanks for your review. I, too, am a little yucked out by your roomie dragging that mattress onto the balcony. FIRST - fire hazard galore. SECOND -unsanitary, IMHO. If she wanted to sleep on the balcony (regardless of fire hazard), she should have brought her own blow up mattress. Someone else has to use that mattress after her - YUCK!!!

Hi Nan!

I am so glad you have decided to pick up where I am (sadly) leaving off. So far, your live from is most entertaining. And I think it will be just the "medicine" I need to help fend off the post-cruise blues.

I loved that little display from the Inauguration/Naming ceremony. It is on Deck 5 right across from Sabatini's. They have created a lovely display of Kate's maternity dress, photos, the ribbon and scissors. Everytime I passed it, it made me smile.

I hope you have a wonderful cruise! I will look forward to reading your daily updates as part of my cruise detox routine!

Bon Voyage!

TL :)

Thanks so much Tracie!!! Loved reading yours! You got me into cruise mode in a great way! Hopefully we can meet on the high seas one day!

As far as the mattress is concerned...

Ro is an adult...I'm not her mother...don't try to be and would never tell her what she can and can't do. To each his own. She did get a call this morning admonishing her for the mattress on the balcony. And as far as cleanliness is concerned I'm doubtful that being on the balcony could be much worse than other things those mistresses go through. To each his own...I'm not here to judge her nor anyone else...let's all just have a good time!

Loving your review! Sounds like your having a wonderful time. I think Rosie had a great solution sleeping on the balcony!

Hope she can continue to sleep there.

I board the Regal in March. Have an awesome cruise. Thanks for taking the time to blog your cruise!

Natalie,

Back to Alfredo's...love the pizza but you must try the ravioli and the eggplant rollatini. Both are excellent, small portions so I order them both, oh along with the vegetarian antipasto.

My mouth is watering! Your trip sounds fabulous. Thanks for doing the thread!

We'll be doing this itinerary on the 27th so this is just building my anticipation! Hope all is smooth sailing for you now :) I was in Chicago this weekend, & you may be happy to know that even with the temps up to 40 degrees yesterday, there's still a ton of snow!

I can't imagine the horror of not having my CPAP. I would have to sleep sitting upright for the whole cruise. Snoring is not the problem, it's the cessation of breathing when relaxed in sleep. Keep your eye on Ro, because apnea can be tragic.

............ I had no idea how displeased I'd be with the shower. NO shower pressure...I mean zero, zip, zilch...nada...and I have a lot...I do mean a lot of hair................

Natalie

If the Royal showers have the same type of shower head as what is on the Regal the spray can be adjusted from soft to hard (low pressure feeling to high pressure feeling). Check that out, it might help.

After becoming sufficiently caffeinated on deck this morning I headed back to the cabin to shower and change. While I previously stated I wasn't looking forward to meeting the shower curtain I had no idea how displeased I'd be with the shower. NO shower pressure...I mean zero, zip, zilch...nada...and I have a lot...I do mean a lot of hair. It's actually more like sheets wool...not happy. I'm actually hoping that there's really something wrong that can be fixed. I'll be calling the guest services desk later to have them send someone to take a look. I'll also be checking out the shower facilities in the fitness center...gotta have a plan "B".

I left the cabin (Ro is still asleep...on the balcony) and headed to the International Cafe. And then...it happened...I met the one true love of my life. The croissant donut. Soft, flaky, sweet. Pure heaven on a plate. I think you'll be able to find me here every morning for the next 9 days...AMAZING!!!!!

I took a spin through the Horizon Buffet to try and get my bearings and to see what the breakfast offerings looked like. Though I don't think I am anywhere near breaking up with my new true love. I was a bit confused by the buffet as it seems a bit disjointed to me. I'm sure it will be fine as I know that Princess spent millions on the design of the ship to ensure the guests have the best experience...you know...like how they took out the center staircase...

Getting ready to head to our Cruise Critic Meet & Greet and am hoping folks actually are able to find it. Princess changed the location three times just this week!!!

Have a good one everyone!!! Thanks for traveling along!!!

Natalie

I'm sure you enjoyed your Meet and Greet as well as the rest of your day.....:):):)

Ro found me devouring the pizza in Alfredo's and joined me. Afterwards we headed to the Princess Live venue for brunch time trivia. There were a LOT more people in attendance than had been at both games last night. We had a pretty miserable round and didn't finish anywhere near the top.

I headed up to the open deck on 16. It was overcast and a bit breezy. The good thing was it wasn't -20 and there was no snow to be seen. So I'm good with that. Felt like I'd been running to and fro all morning so I decided to skip the interactive team trivia at 1:00. Just wanted a little down time before the slot pull at 3:00.

34 of us from the roll call met for the slot pull at 3:00. It took me a few minutes to collect all of the money and check off names and then we were off to find our machine. We each put in $15. Long story short...we each walked away with $13. It took about an hour and we laughed and screamed and cheered each other on...it was a total riot.

Captains circle party was at 4:45 and I just wasn't feeling it. I'm only Ruby and they hold it in the Princess Theater. Probably should have gone so that I could tell all of you what it was like....instead opted for grabbing a snack in the IC.

We headed to trivia at 5:00. Must not have been too exciting since I can't remember anything about it!!! When we were done we headed to dinner.

For dinner I had the cold apple soup, some Caribbean chicken appetizer with a big long name I can't recall and surf and turf (prawns). Everything was excellent. Our table mates were once again fun and entertaining. Love getting to know new people and hear their stories. One lady at our table is fighting breast cancer. She was diagnosed stage 4 SIXTEEN years ago and is still kicking it. You go girl...you are a SHE-RO!!!!

After dinner we ran into two other couples from CC and joined them for the Rock'n Roll trivia. All music from the 50's and 60's and you had to name the song plus the artist. Our team won and I'm now the proud owner of a beautiful plastic Princess sports bottle.

The six of us then made our way to the "Yes/No" game show. You have to have a three minute conversation with Toby (Assistant Cruise Director) without using the words yes or no. This was the first time that we'd attended something that was being filmed for the in-room TV. Everyone from our group who signed up was picked. Connie made it the entire 3 minutes and won a bottle of champagne as did several other guests. Me...I made it a minute and a half...it ain't easy folks. But the funniest was Ro. The first word out of her mouth was YES...everyone roared with laughter!!!! In the end Toby gave us both a bottle of champagne!!!!

We stayed in Princess Live and participated in "Passenger Feud". I was fading fast. We had a good time but were exhausted by the time it was done. We took our water bottles and champagne and headed to bed.

You can tell we are closer to the island because this morning is much more warm and humid than yesterday. I'm ready to go find my one true love and start my day!

More later!

Natalie

Exactly my concern!!! You'd better believe I'm keeping a close eye on her! My father uses a CPAP as well so I'm very well aware of the dangers!! Thanks so much for your concern.

The overcast skies created rain for a bit this morning so I spent most of my day inside.

After my morning ritual with the love of my life it was time for morning trivia in the Vista Lounge. Ended up playing with a fellow CC member, PoohDaddy...he and his lovely wife are a riot!!! We didn't come close to winning the game but laughed a lot. We've attended several games run by one of the cruise staff members, David. He is absolutely outstanding! A quite hysterical chap if I do say so myself!

I pretty much just wandered, perhaps stopping momentarily at the casino to make my daily deposit, before meeting the other CC folks for our scheduled afternoon cabin crawl. All in all we saw an aft balcony, mid ship balcony, obstructed view balcony and finally a full suite right at the bow of the ship. We had a great time and all enjoyed seeing the different types of cabins.

By the time the cabin crawls was done I was exhausted as I hadn't slept well the night before. I informed Ro that I was going to take a nap and wouldn't make it to dinner that night. 3 hours later I awoken from my coma feeling much more human than I had earlier in the day. I spiffed up (it's formal night) and headed to Alfredo's for a quick bite of pizza.

PoohDaddy and his lovely wife happened to be there so I joined them. Afterwards we headed to Princess live where we pretty much stayed for the next three hours. First we participated in "Name the Lyrics"(none of us enjoyed that one) followed by "Name that Tune acoustic." David was on guitar and is an amazing musician! We laughed until we cried during the game! And finally it was time for "Liars Club." Princess live was standing room only for the show. The panel consisted of David, Cruise Director Peter and the comedian onboard, Phil. The three of them together were HYSTERICAL!!!! At one point it got a bit raunchy to which Phil asked "Are we now on a Carnival ship?" Peter quickly replied "Not right now but that's where we will ended up working if we keep this up!" LOL!!!!

We dock on St Kitts at 7:00 in the morning so we are now headed to bed. Will do a bit of shopping first thing before we head to the beach.

More tomorrow...thanks for sailing with us!

Natalie, I hoped you 're going to Carambola Beach Club tomorrow in St Kitts. It's fabulous. Very comfy padded chairs and a great restaurant & bar right there providing great service. Hope you read this post before leaving the ship.
