Perry1180 Posted February 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2015 When I was in Nassau in December, all I did was walk around the town, which was pretty nice, but then I started to wonder, as I saw cabs go by, can you take a cab to the Atlantis Casino? On a map it is 2.3 km... I know RC has shore excursions, but they are a little pricey, in my opinion. Also on a side topic, dis anyone notice how the drink packages changed, and how the selections moved to higher priced packages. I am a novice, and ask those with much more experience for help. Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted February 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2015 Yes--you can take a land taxi that will drop you off at the front door to the Atlantis hotel. You can walk through the lobby to the casino. You can take a water taxi from the dock. It is a short uphill walk when you arrive on the island. [downhill going back] You access the Atlantis property via the marina area from the water taxi. We love to look at the huge and beautiful yachts there. [think 2-story with attendants] Atlantis will not let you walk beyond a certain point without purchasing a day pass. We have taken a water taxi and played the casino for awhile and then headed back to the ship. Several years ago we stayed at an All Inclusive hotel not far from Atlantis. there is a straw market not far from the water taxi that was much nicer than the one by the pier. [or it was there then]

cb at sea Posted February 12, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Of course you can take a cab...anywhere! You are welcome to go into Atlantis...to gamble, shop or eat. You are not welcome to go to their beach/pool area....that's all! Atlantis is simply a hotel! Anyone may go into the hotel area...just not their outdoor spots! Rocketlady Posted February 13, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 13, 2015 WE took a cab. I don't think we could of walked to it. Where we docked it was pretty far away. I think we went over a pretty big bridge. We went early and got to walk around inside of the casino and play a few slots. Left and went back on the ship. We are not ones to shop because most of it is from China . Why eat off the ship when it is included in your cruise.
vickila Posted February 13, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 13, 2015 At Atlantis, a nice thing to do is to buy a DIG wristband. The Dig is their aquarium which is quite extensive. A tour takes about an hour or you can walk the 2 areas on your own. Approx. $40 bought at the front desk. Taxis to Atlantis are outside of the vendor atea. They wait to fill up the vans, approx. $4.00 each way. Easy coming back to, but allow 1/2 hour, even though it is less thsn 2 miles as traffic can be heavy. PompeySailor Posted February 13, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Just an FYI, the casino in Atlantis tailors more to the High Roller, you will very rarely find any table less than $100 minimum wager. Not to say there won't be any smaller $ tables. Slots are slots and anything from 25C to $100 per spin. That has been our experience the last 5 times we have been there, the good thing though is the players at the tables know what they are doing;) Be lucky!! You are no longer allowed to walk around the lobbies without security stopping you. You can go to the casino and the shops in the old towers, but you are not allowed to wander around the royal tower, Cove or reef. Marina Village is still open to the public. It's not a part of the main property, but located adjacent to the hotel complex.
jbr5049 Posted February 13, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) I have stayed there many times and during the day almost all the black jack tables are around $15 - $25 a hand. If your party is over 18, there is some way to get access to the Cove pool as a cruise guest (We saw a group from a Royal cruise last year when we were there). This is an 18+ pool with an outside casino. Yes you can gamble in your bathing suit. It is upscale and expensive, but nice if you don't have or want to deal with kids. You also get access to an exclusive beach and cabanas for ~500 a day. Edited February 13, 2015 by jbr5049
