Yes, for the Emerald Princess relocation cruise. I have the prices in AUD and they are very high.

Glad that I have crossed that cruise off my list then. Though, I'm curious to see how high they were. Care to share them?

Could someone please enlighten me. I have heard these stories about an Emerald Princess relocation cruise to Australia departing from Barcelona or Rome in late 2016. I am really interested but I don't seem to be able to find any details - please help if you can. Is it true and has an itinerary been indicated? Thanks.:)

Sure, I am hoping they will come down in price, this is what I have got:

Inside $7249

Outside $11019

Balcony $11479

Mini suite $14339

Suite $27649

This is 46 days to Melbourne

Where is this itinerary listed? I don't see it on the Princess website?

Thats ridiculous.

I know right

Repositioning cruises are normally cheaper, there are not a lot of port days, so I can't see the justification of these massive prices. I would love to do this cruise but not at those prices.

Especially for us Aussies, all our onboard spend is in US dollars and with our falling dollar at the moment we will need to add 25 to 30% just to cover the exchange.

:(:(

The optimist in me says those prices must be a mistake and the real prices will come out when the cruise goes on sale.

Those are launch fares. No one pays launch fares. ;)

Seeing US$ pricing as starting at:

Inside $6329 ($137.59/person/day)

Outside $9919

Balcony $10419 ($226.50/person/day)

Mini suite $13039

Suite $25739

Yes, high. Ship will sail empty at those rates.

But the rates for the European cruises on this ship are even higher on a per day basis. For example, a 14 day sailing in July, 2016:

Inside $2929 ($209.21/person/day)

Balcony $3849 ($274.92/person/day)

Current pricing for the same cruise (different ship) in July this year is.

Inside $2499 ($178.50/person/day)

Balcony $3199 ($228.50/person/day)

2016 balcony is over 20% higher than 2015.

This is the Emerald itinerary. So very similar. Royal Princess is 2 days longer and a port extra. Extra port in Cartagena. And Malaga is swapped for Gibraltar.

Ships: Emerald Princess 2015

Ports: Barcelona, Spain | Valencia, Spain | Malaga, Spain | Seville (Cadiz), Spain | Lisbon, Portugal | Madeira (Funchal), Portugal | Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
